STEPS IN TESTING DEVELOPMENT
I. Planning the Test• S= specific• M = Measurable• A = Attainable• R = Reliable• T = Time bound
TABLE OF SPECIFICATION
• - “ test – blueprint”• - a two-way grid in which the objectives
to be developed are assigned to the columns or rows and the major areas of content are assigned to rows/columns. The number of items is entered in the cells to provide weighting of topics and objectives.
Steps in Preparing a Table of Specification
• A. Preparing a list of instructional objectives
• B. Outlining the course content• C. Preparing the table of specification
–one-way grip–two way grid
• Guidelines in making a two-way grid/chart table of specification–1. Number of days is arbitrary.–2. To find the weight, divide the number of
days allotted per content by the total number of days covered multiply by 100.–3. To find the number of items per content
multiply the weight by the number of items of the whole test.–4. To find the number of items per skill,
multiply the percentage per skill by the number of items per content.

divide the number of items of the whole test by the total number of days covered, multiply the answer by the time allotment per objective.
– 3. To find the percentage item, 100% divided by the total number of test items multiplied by the number of items per objective
