The Story:After three people in different parts of the world succumb to an unknown Ebola-like virus, the United States Army Medical Research Institute forInfectious Diseases (USAMRIID) is pressed into service. Since their top medical doctor and agent for the U.S. President’s (Oscar-winner Anjelica Huston)ex-counter terrorist unit, COVERT ONE, Lt. Col. Jon Smith (Stephen Dorff) is sent to interview the families of the victims; the job of heading the medicalresearch team falls to Smith’s colleague and fiancée, Dr. Sophie Amsden (Sophia Myles).
Shortly before Smith returns to USAMRIID, his childhood friend and COVERT ONE colleague Bill Griffon (Josh Hopkins), who Smith had believed deadfor over five years, suddenly resurfaces and warns him that Smith’s life is in great danger: Smith’s ex-lover and colleague RACHEL RUSSEL (Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino) has gone rogue. When Sophie also falls victim to the virus, the enraged and bereaved Smith flies into investigatory action anduncovers evidence that his fiancée’s death was no accident – someone out there has the virus, and the pandemic that threatens countless millions oflives was planned.
