SIDE ONE:

S O M E T H I N G O U T o f n o t h i n g

Example 1:Upping my Elvis. This meant nothing to me at the time I got tasked with doing an energiser before my group meeting. The first time it was explained to me was at the BDO! I took it quite literally at the time and proceeded to set up a live feed to my friends’ office in LA where they hold aerobic classes in the morning. So I got my team to join in for 2 minutes of their warm-up session to get pumped before I pumped them full of figures!

Example 2:I was in the Beer Boutique enjoying being surrounded by all the all the new beers and innovative beer labels young brewmasters have designed whist reading EllE. I thought to myself, some of these bottles would look great on the catwalk. Then I started thinking of how I could translate the taste of beer into fashion. And so The Devil Wears Lager was born. A blog where I stylise my image to pair with the beer, thus combining beer and fashion!

Throughout my life I have always tried to glamourise everything I do, whether it was hair styling, photography, right down to the things I make. I don’t mean this purely in a superficial way. I just like things to look great but most of all; appealing and different to anything else you have seen before.

In previous roles I have worked at festivals doing vintage hair and make up. I even kick started my own monthly event “Jezebel Jive’ which incorporated the hair but also had Swing DJs and dancers. I also was responsible for decorating the room so it genuinely felt like you were in the 50s.

I know physical appearance isn’t necessarily at the fore front of what you are looking for, however the reason I mention it is because it is not just the physical I apply this thought process to. It translates into everything I do in work also, whether it’s my presentations or personalised invites to work events. I always endeavour to make it look good.

THE GREAT TH INKERT H E P O W E R O F O C DThis side of my brain is the logical, strategic side. I like to be oraganised. A tool that comes in handy when working on projects and within time frames. No matter how mad the concept, I still have to have order.

An example of this side was the result of “The Big Think”. I had no idea before hand that the whole point was to encourage you to come up with program ideas! I had never done that up to this point before. But I was set the task and after some heavy researching and some design work, Love Me Tinder was born. A concept you all know and probable saw at some point. This exercised the methodical part of my brain as well as the creative. Not only did I have to generate an idea, I also had to think about its popularity and functionality.

CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS?

SIDE FOUR:

I have previously been responsible for managing intoxicated animals. Maintaining a positive equilibrium within a bar environment whilst having to reason with madness on a daily basis branded me with the power of negotiation. The 2nd floor around Xmas time is similar! Negotiation is a skill I believe is key to be able to use to your advantage in most, if not all, job roles.

This is also the side where I find most of my inspiration whilst the other parts of my brain help to connect the dots; this is the place where I find the dots. It is the wild side, the place where my inner child lives. The side that thinks champagne should be on tap and everyone looks like unicorns dancing to Iron Maiden. The side that thinks it’s shaped like a circle…

SIDE FIVE:

ALWAYS FIND SOLUTIONS NO MATTER WHATI know I keep banging on about boxes but that’s not to say that I am confined to them. I know the box sometimes doesn’t have the answer. I know sometimes I have to do whatever it takes. Sometimes I have to smash the box!

Love Me Tinder idea was originally set to be a documentary. However i eneded up totally pulling it apart and rebuilt as dating show. This enabled it to appeal to a more lucratice audience on a more sellable worldwide format. In other words I smashed the box and built a better one! (aka more £££!).

The white space. The blank canvas.The side of me that wants to learn. This side is a continuum that stretches out far into the galaxy and is constantly seeking knowledge and experience. This is the side that you will influence if you bring me in to your fold. You can stuff it full of all your teams work, cake, fun, teach me new swear words and whatever else you think I would benefit from!
