DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

Using InDesign I have created the main heading of the magazine, which is simply the artists name – Abbie Field.

I made the beginning of each of her names bigger and bolder so it stands out from the rest of the text and draws attention to the article and makes the reader want to read who she is.

The smaller lettering on the heading gives the writing more interest and fits in with the rest of the text as well as making it look different.

I then added a photo of the artist to take up the entire of the left hand side of the page.I used Photoshop to edit the photo, I made the blue in her leggings and the red in her hair brighter, to make the image more interesting. I also adjusted some of the levels to give the image some depth. I then placed it into InDesign and made it fit the entire page so that one of the main focus points is the image and the artist. The image is interesting and fits in with the genre of music that the magazine is based on.

After typing the introduction into word, I placed it in a text box on InDesign. I used the letter drop down tool, so that the beginning letter which is S was the biggest and boldest part of the writing again adding an emphasis on this part of the article. The writing is in different bolder font to the rest of the article so that the audience can read this and see if they want to continue reading the rest of the article.I then placed the rest of the article into InDesign and put in them into text boxes that will eventually wrap around any images added. The question and answers are clearly separate so that the reader will not be confused as to what they are reading.

This is the final piece of my double page spread. I edited all the photos on Photoshop, I changed the colouring to black and white and cut out the background using a lasso tool, this gives the impression that she is just floating on the page.Using the wrap text tool, the text wrapped around the images so that it does not obstruct from the images and gives the article some more interest and makes it look more exciting.
