I’d like to thank everyone who participated in the Home and Garden Show this year. It’s a lot of hard work preparing and setting up for the event, not to mention the hours to man the booths and the volunteers needed to help make sure it runs smooth! There were so many ideas for the consumers of our community to see. Over 16,000 people attended, and approximately 5,000 pounds of food was collected for the Food Bank, along with a $32.00 donation. I enjoyed visiting with some of you at the Home Show and I hope this will be the start of a very busy and prosperous year for all of you.Thank you to everyone who stopped by Ferguson’s showroom for some good food and drinks at our After Hours event. It was neat to see all the new trends that may be possible for your future projects. Thank you also to the Ferguson staff for graciously hosting the event! I think it’s important for us to support each other’s businesses and find out how our fellow members can contribute to the success of our own client projects! Camaraderie is an important virtue for all of us to work towards. I hope to see you all again at our next meeting. Feel free to bring a friend!Congratulations to Tru-Built Construction for winning this month’s Best of the Best with their Veranda/Porch entry. Very impressive! Keep up the good work! Next month’s category will be Great Room/Family Room remodel. I hope we get a lot of contestants from which to pick! The March meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12 at Valentino’s on 35th and Holdrege Streets. Fred Hoke and Rita Cox from Building and Safety will be giving a presentation about Lincoln’s new Accela software program for obtaining permits and scheduling inspections.
