YOUR STARTER KIT... contains everything you need to run a successful fundraiser including:

• Art paper

• 2 UPS labels one marked “ARTWORK” one marked “ORDERS”

Keys to a Successful Program• Great art! Create colorful, themed artwork that parents want

to preserve.

Get off to the best start: email us your class list for student labels.

• The class list is essential. It makes your fundraiser easier to manage. The list should include each student’s preferred first (e.g., Beth for Elizabeth) and last name, classroom teacher and grade.

• Excel or Word format is strongly encouraged to ensure accuracy of names. If there are privacy concerns, please contact us.

• We will create student labels, including blank labels for additional students, and send them to you.

For best results:• Work with students to create vibrant, themed artwork• Use art paper provided in Starter Kit• Mediums to use: markers, water colors, crayons (don’t use

Construction Gray), tempera paint, acrylic paint, paint sticks (like PlayColor)

• Use bright, bold colors and fill the entire page• Create horizontal or vertical artwork• Place each student’s label on the back of his/her artwork in

the upper left corner to indicate orientation• Great tip: Parents love when you incorporate their child’s

name and year on the front of the art. Just make sure that it is away from the edge of the paper (any details near the edge may be cut off on some products)

Important to note:• Mediums to avoid: sketching pencils, flourescent colors,

highlighters, glitter, sand, salt, buttons, feathers and googly eyes

• For glued cutouts, ensure strong adhesion so pieces don’t fall off. Cutouts cannot hang over the edge of the paper

• Don’t use construction paper - colors will not be true• Please don’t create scratch art or use photography,

magazine cutouts or copyrighted images• If writing on the back of the art, use light pencil. Markers tend

to show through the art• Don’t place the label on the front of the artwork• Keep any important details, like names and dates, away from

the edge of the artwork

STEP ONE: CREATE ARTWORK

Using our recommended art materials will result in more vibrant keepsake products. Follow these Art Guidelines and your students will create art their parents will treasure.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS: things to do while your students are creating their masterpieces.

Promote your program.

• Display the posters from your Starter Kit around the school where students will see them.

• Copy the parent announcement letter from your Starter Kit and send it home with your students.

• Include information about the fundraiser and deadlines in daily school announcements.

• Provide information about the fundraiser on/in your school website, Facebook page, newsletters, voicemails and other school communications.

• Generate excitement with your students:

– Create a display in your school using the sample products in your Starter Kit.

– Hold a competition for the grade/class with the most orders. Reward ideas: pizza party, no school uniform day, lunch with the art teacher.

– Set a school-wide participation goal and reward the entire school with popsicles or popcorn or another incentive you know will excite your students.

• If you run a contest, post regular updates and include photos of students working on their art to really draw attention to your posts.

More promotional tools are available in the Coordinator’s Corner where you can

STEP TWO: SHIP ARTWORK TO US

Place each student’s label on the back of his/her completed artwork in the upper left corner to indicate orientation. Each barcoded label is assigned to a specific student. Blank labels are included in your Starter Kit for additional participants.

Sort your artwork by class, put it in a plastic bag to avoid water damage, package it and use the UPS shipping label included in your Starter Kit marked “ARTWORK.” Take the package to a UPS Store, Staples, Office Max or other UPS authorized facility. The shipping is FREE – you just need to get it to UPS and they’ll take care of the rest. Do not leave in school office unless UPS picks up on a daily basis.

What happens if students are late with their art? If you have students who did not complete their artwork in time for your shipment, hold on to their art and let your Art to Remember Program Coordinator know right away. We will email you a blank order form and a product brochure for these students. Print both and send home with the child’s artwork so we can process the order with the rest of the school.

If you have any questions about shipping, do NOT

contact UPS directly. Contact

Art to Remember at (800) 895-8777.

PLEASE STAY ON SCHEDULE!

If we do not receive your school’s

artwork or orders on the dates

in your Program Confirmation

Form, delivery of your products

may be delayed and will not be

guaranteed for a specific date.

You will receive personalized student order forms organized by classroom. Please remind your classroom teachers to ensure each student receives his/her own order form.

Announce to students, teachers, and parents when orders are due back to school and send each student home with his/her personalized order form.

• Spanish instructions will be emailed to you when order forms are shipped to school.

• A blank order form and product brochure for additional participants (new students, late artwork, etc.) will be emailed to you when order forms are shipped to school.

The shipping is FREE – you just need to get it to UPS and they’ll take care of the rest. Do not leave in school office unless UPS picks up on a daily basis.
