Stel provides fast and reliable internet wireless broadband connectivity … wherever you are.

Page 2: Stel

STEL is a Wireless Internet Service Provider. Our technology works on specific equipments designed to to guarantee a stable, reliable and fast connection.

Page 3: Stel

The traditional broadband internet connectivity is provided through a fiber optic cable. Main advantages of this technology are the consistent reliability and the high level of performances even in critical conditions (huge number of users connected simultaneously).

Page 4: Stel

The main disadvantages are the costs of the fiber optic and the installation (road excavations is always required). This expenses are so significant to limit the actual expansions of the broadband connectivity. That’s why to have a reasonable ROI the top players operating on the market are actually just covering the areas with an high population density. As a result a large part of the territory is not covered and it won’t even be in the next future.

Page 5: Stel

On top of that even in the main cities it’s not uncommon to find areas that are not actually covered by fiber optic cables because of the installation problems we discussed in the previous chart. Here’s an example:

Rome, Italy.

Yellow areas are fiber optics connected . Blue areas are connected with traditional Ethernet ADSL cables which determines, in most cases, a very bad performance service.

Page 6: Stel

On the mobile side the major companies are expanding their networks to guarantee Internet Mobile Access which works perfectly for mobile devices but is not suitable for home and business use, as it’s not stable and too much affected by the number of users connected in the same time on each repeater.

This is what we call:

DIGITAL DIVIDE

Page 8: Stel

An alternative solution to cover areas on digitally divided is the Satellite Connectivity. No cables requires, basic installation but… the average monthly rates are expensive , the signal is not stable as too much affected by weather conditions and by the number of users connected at the same time on a limited number of channels. Furthermore this system suffers problems due to a very bad latency (the amount of time it takes a packet to travel from source ,your pc, to destination ,satellites in the sky and being back “home”. We’re talking about 50.000 miles!!) Conclusions: it s’ good for emergency on isolated areas but not at all for a daily use.

Page 9: Stel

The long distance terrestrial wireless approach is today the sole solution to efficiently cover areas that are actually digitally divided. The good news are that it does not require huge investments on the financial side but, on the other side, it has to be implemented by skilled companies which have acquired a long experience on installations and troubleshooting management.

… and this is what we do.

Page 10: Stel

Ok, good, interesting but….how it works??

Page 11: Stel

From a central point of distribution, which is connected to a “fiber optic access point”, we directly spread the wireless signal towards a network of radio repeaters. Each repeater can be used to “transport” the signal towards the next one (point to point) or to spread the signal towards a large number of local users (point to multipoint). Each repeater is practically a clone of the first one and so on The average distance among the repeaters is between10 to 15 miles. On a point to point connection it’s also possible to cover longer distances such as 20 to 30 miles.

Page 12: Stel

Here ’s a simple example of a typical WISP scenario.

Page 13: Stel

Here ’s a real case history regarding one of the WISP network we own. Green dots indicates the radio repeaters actually active. Yellow dots the radio repeaters we’re going to install. More than 4500 clients are today connected on this network including public offices, factories, business offices, retail stores, private users, security web cam networks etc

Page 14: Stel

Here’ s the range of contracts we’re actually offering on the market. It is also possible to create specific customized contracts to increase the bandwidth service

Page 15: Stel

VOIP telephone service can also be provided as a separate service.

Page 16: Stel

The control room is active 24/7 to guarantee a continuous monitoring of the radio repeaters network. This include the control of the quality of the service, the management of the automatic switches to backup the connectivity in case of any unexpected interruption.
