Operation Christmas Child Christmas already? Yes, it is time to start thinkingabout ourmission, Operation Christmas Child! Weare asking each family to pack at leastone shoe boxfor needy children all over the world. If you start nowpacking and preparing yourboxes, you can savemoney and maybe pack more boxes for poor childrenall overthe world. This not only brightens theirday, but it also spreads the word about God’s love tochildren everywhere whomight not have heard thatmessage otherwise. This year we will have somepre-made shoe boxesavailable on the stage in the Fellowship Hall. Or,you can use an empty shoe box (standardsize, please) or a small plastic container. You can wrap thebox (lid separately), but wrapping is not required.Youcan buy these at Dollar Tree or Dollar General.

Most importantly, pray for thechild who will receive your gift.

Determine whether your giftwill be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s age category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14.Print outthe appropriate boy/girl label from the Operation Christmas Child website, check the correct age category onthe label, and tape the label to thetop of your box.

Fill the box with a variety ofgifts that will bring delight to a child. Click here for gift ideas.

Please donate $7 or more foreach shoe box you prepare to help cover shipping and other project costs. Youcangive online by using our “Follow Your Box Donation” option, or you canwrite a check to Samaritan’s Purse(note “OCC” on memo line) and place it in anenvelope on top of the gift items inside your box. If you or yourfamily arepreparing more than one shoe box, please make one combined donation.
