• DRAMA INTERESTS IT’S AUDIENCE WHEN A CHARACTER’S STATUS IS THREATENED OR CHANGES IN THE COURSE OF THE DRAMA.
EXAMPLES – • CINDERELLA – Poor girl becomes princess• BEAUTY AND THE BEAST – Big brute turns cute
through love of a good woman.• ALADDIN – Poor pickpocket becomes sultan and
defeats evil wizard with battered old lamp.• HARRY POTTER – Bullied boy becomes powerful
wizard on 11th Birthday.• Changing a character’s status generates tension.
