Question:
Was it appropriate for the government back then to reject the original statue of liberty just because it was the face of a black woman?
Researching. . . My thinking : I believe that it was inappropriate for the government back in the
1800s to reject the original statue of liberty. That is my decision
because the statue of liberty wasn’t always the face of a white
person. My purpose for presenting this is for people to know the truth
behind the statue of liberty that everybody knows and visits today.
This is important to me because when I was younger I did a project on
the statue of liberty, not actually knowing the actual truth and story
about the statue of liberty.
Proof:
The first picture shows what the original statue was supposed to be before it was rejected. The second shows how the shackles from the first is still there on the statue. The shackles
are always confusing because, what do shackles have to do with a tribute to soldiers.
The statue of liberty was a tribute to soldiers and immigrants coming to the United States.
Claim:
The statue of liberty is a tribute to black slaves that were finally being freed of their masters.

A. No, but I had suspected that it was.
Q. Did you ever notice anything weird about the statue of liberty?
A. Now that you mention it, I did always wonder why there was a chain around the foot of
something that’s a tribute to soldiers.
Q. What would you have done if you
were Frederic Auguste Bartholdi?
A. I just wouldn’t have done it. It’s either you’re doing it my way or no way.

truth?
A. I feel… Cheated and Disgusted for the most part.
