Project 2015-03 System Operating Limits Periodic Review



• Implement recommended revisions to IRO-006-EAST and IRO-009-1 that resulted from Project 2012-09 – IRO Five-Year Review Team

• IRO Five-Year Review Team reviewed IRO-003-2, IRO-004-2, IRO-005-4, IRO-006-5, IRO-006-East, IRO-008-1, IRO-009-1 and IRO-010-1a and posted eight draft recommendations for a 45-day industry comment period that ended on September 20, 2013.

• All standards were recommended for revision except IRO-006-5, which was affirmed by the team and presented to the Board in Feb 2014 for approval recommendations.

Project 2015-06 Implement IRO Five-Year Review Recommendations


• Project 2014-03 – Revisions to TOP and IRO Standards seeks to retire IRO-003-2, IRO-004-2, IRO-005-4, IRO-008-1 and IRO-010-1a. As a result, only IRO-006-East and IRO-009-1 remain in need of revision.

• The Standards Committee approved a slate of drafting team members on April 6, 2015.

• IRO Drafting Team meeting scheduled at Florida Reliability Coordinating Council (FRCC) offices in Tampa, FL, April 28-30, 2015

• The revised standards are planned to be posted for an initial comment and ballot period May 2015.


Project 2015-06 Implement IRO Five-Year Review Recommendations



• Measured, in-depth review to improve quality and content of standards

• Look for opportunities to make standards more concise Verify content is appropriate to be included in a standard

Builds on Independent Experts’ work with industry input
