ORSP is in the job of helping students, faculty, and staff obtain external funding.

Director for Student Research & Innovation

OSRI’s mission is to support the incorporation of scholarly activities/training...as a means to engage, retain, and promote students and their success.

I am in the job of helping students, faculty, and staff expand their scholarly potential.

Research CouncilChargeThe Research Council (RC) monitors the research environment of APSU and deliberates additions and amendments to policies/regulations/guidelines impacting research activities and/or APSU employees engaged in research. The RC may initiate studies that are concerned with the welfare of research and advises the University in matters concerning research. The RC may engage in additional responsibilities as determined by the RC chairperson.

FUTURE PROJECTS/DIRECTIONS

• RC focus on the working environment supporting research activities• Measuring research/scholarly activity of students• Allocating/Reallocating $ for better faculty research startup packages• Department/college accounts that can accrue $ for future spending• Rethinking GA workloads…hybrid GTA/GRAs• Designing out-of-state/international student scholarships • (FYI, OOS tuition = ~81% UG and ~60% GR increase in tuition…so, there is room)

• Others???…don’t be shy…let us know!

APSU’s FUTURE…• New-ish President• New-ish Provost• Each year, new students• Soon, new Strategic Plan• Soon, new Academic Affairs Strategic Plan

For example, “APSU research”….

What do you hope to see?
