Guidelines for District Level Preliminary Round It’s free! No fees will be taken for participating in the competition. Participants will have to bear

travel and food expenses. Food arrangements will be made by organizing committee, however, candidates will have to bear

travel expenses.

Examiners’ decision will be treated as fi nal. Competition will start at the scheduled time. Each participant must be present throughout. District level preliminary round will be held on 50 centres across the state. First two winners of district level competitions will participate in the fi nal round at Baramati

between13th and 15th January 2017.

On February 22, 2017, former Union Agriculture Minister, President of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), honourable Member of Parliament, Shri Sharadchandra Pawar will complete fi fty years in State Legislature and Parliament. He is the only member who has been active for fi fty years in the workings of legislative laws for state as well as nation. In the last fi fty years, there wasn’t a single day where he wasn’t the Member of State Legislature or Parliament. Union and State ministries have seen his able leadership and witnessed his visionary traits. Now we wish to share his thoughts and ideologies with the youth through elocution competition. It will inspire the youth in fulfi lling his dream of transforming India.

Nature of competition

December 2016 onwards competition will take place at district level and state level in two rounds and will have two groups- junior college (11th and 12th std) and senior college (graduation and post-graduation). Top two winners from district level competition will be selected for state level competition. Prize distribution ceremony for district competition will be held on the same day of the competition. Top two winners will then participate in the state level competition to be held in Baramati between January 13-15, 2017. These winners will get to meet honourable Sharadchandra Pawar and interact with him. Additionally, they will get the opportunity to visit various institutes in Baramati.

Honourable Member of Parliament, Sharadchandra Pawar’s journey of fi fty years in Parliament, eff ectively documented in a booklet, will be distributed in your college. It will benefi t students who wish to register for the competition. Booklet will be available by October 20, 2016 at your college.

Participants can express their views in Hindi, Marathi or English language; however, there won’t be diff erent groups for each language.

Competition will be held between two groups- junior college (11th and 12th std) senior college (graduation and post-graduation) and will have two rounds- district level and state level.

Each participant will be given 5+2= 7 minutes to express his views. Students from any college within the said district can participate in the

competition. He/ she should be studying in either group. Top two winners from district level competition will be selected for state

level. Maximum number of students participating from each college will be

restricted to 10. Mandatorily each participating student must carry his/ her identity card

and Principal’s letter. It’s free! No fees will be taken for participating in the competition.

Participants will have to bear travel and food expenses. Examiners’ decision will be treated as fi nal. Competition will start at the scheduled time. Each participant must be

present throughout.

Participants can express their views in Hindi, Marathi or English language; however, there won’t be diff erent groups for each language.

State level competition will have two rounds. First round will have ‘Impromptu Speech’ wherein the candidate will be assigned any topic related to Shri Sharad Pawar’s fi fty years in Parliament. At least 3 minutes and up to 4 minutes will be given to each candidate to speak spontaneously. In the second round, three topics will be given, candidates have to select any one and speak on it for 5+2= 7 minutes.

Only top two winners from district level competition will be eligible for state level competition.

Candidates participating in fi nal round of state level competition must carry winning certifi cate from district level competition, his/ her identity card and Principal’s letter.

Food arrangements will be made by organizing committee, however, candidates will have to bear travel expenses.

Competition will start at the scheduled time. Each participant must be present throughout.

He is the only member who has been active for fi fty years in the workings of legislative laws for state as well as nation. In the last fi fty years, there wasn’t a single day where he wasn’t the Member of State Legislature or Parliament. In fact, last fi ve decades saw many milestone decisions taken by Shri Sharadchandra Pawar. Many projects saw the light under his able vision. He related with the common man’s angst, understood their needs and incessantly worked for their betterment. These golden years of his career in State Legislature and Parliament had many defi ning moments that would inspire today’s youth. To make them aware of Shri Sharadchandra Pawar’s vision and deeds, we propose an idea of conducting intercollegiate Elocution Competition at the State Level. This way they will be able to understand, absorb and implement Shri Sharadchandra Pawar’s progressive thoughts which have always been

shared by him on various platforms like speeches, columns, interviews and innumerable programs. They should imbibe his thoughts and share his vision of seeing a modern, transformed Maharashtra. In course of this competition, students will go through extensive views of Shri Pawar formed through keen observation, widespread work experience, writings etcetera.

Through the medium of elocution, students will contribute in spreading Shri Pawar’s dream of transforming Maharashtra. This is one small step taken by ‘Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai’.
