W ith hundreds of entertaining activities to choose from, the State Fair of Texas is the ultimate family playground. To help make the most of your visit, use this itinerary as a guide. All of these
activities are included with your admission to the State Fair of Texas. For an exciting day of animal encounters, we suggest arriving at the Fair at 10 a.m. Activities on this itinerary start near the livestock area of the fairgrounds, so entering the park at either Gate 10, 11, or the Pan Am Gate is recommended.

1 HOME ON THE RANGE Debuting last year, Home on the Range, features the
re-designed Little Hands on the Farm farm-to-market
activity for little ones, as well as the barnyard, this
exhibit brings these two popular activities together in
a themed, indoor location.
2 LIVESTOCK BIRTHING BARN Experience the miracle of life right before your eyes in
the Livestock Birthing Barn. This unique educational
experience exhibits the incubation and birthing
process of various livestock animals. With agriculture
and education as the Fair’s foundation, the new
Livestock Birthing Barn highlights the agricultural
importance of breeding livestock and its role in our
everyday lives. Stop by the Livestock Birthing Barn,
located at Nimitz and MLK, to learn more about the
birthing process.
3 LIVESTOCK 101 STAGE Catch a fun and informative presentation from resident
livestock experts. Learn all about the animals being
exhibited in the barns before taking a tour later on in the
day. By then, you too will be an expert!
4 LIVESTOCK GUIDED TOURS Want to get up close and personal with State Fair
livestock? Take a tour of their living quarters and have
all your questions answered by resident student experts!
Livestock is at the heart of Texas culture, economy, and
livelihood. At the State Fair livestock barns you can test
your livestock terminology and check out more than 15
different breeds of cattle, along with an assortment of
sheep, rabbits, llamas and more. 16 daily guided tours
every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
5 PIG RACES Here they come, snout-to-snout, down the stretch,
back by popular demand! The Pan-Am Arena is home
to the most talked-about track in town; the pig races.
Dressed in fetching racing silks, the wiggly piglets run
the course while fairgoers cheer them on.
6 PEE WEE STAMPEDE & RODEO This fun-filled activity allows the littlest of fairgoers
to grab their cowboy gear and ride stick-horses while
competing in a variety of mock-rodeo events. From
bronco busting to barrel racing, kids are the stars of
this rodeo. Suitable for children ages three through
six years old.
7 ALL-STAR STUNT DOG SHOW Offering the world’s first and original “stunt dog
show,” audiences of all ages will be captivated by
amazing canine tricks you have to see to believe!
The All-Star Stunt Dog Show dogs have performed
across the country, including appearances on the
Ellen DeGeneres Show and Oprah Winfrey Show. All
the dogs have been rescued from shelters and trained
to showcase their unique talents. From jump roping,
to barrel racing, and even juggling, this show is
guaranteed to be dog-gone fun.
8 EXPERIENCE THE CHILDREN’S AQUARIUM Come learn something new about your favorite
aquatic friends from around the world! From stingrays
to sea turtles, the Children’s Aquarium offers a
fun look into marine life with interactive zones and
exhibits.
9 BIG TEX’S FARMYARD Old McDonald himself would be impressed by what’s
happening over on Big Tex’s farm. Located next to the
Lagoon, Big Tex’s Farmyard provides an educational
experience through interactive exhibits as well as live
animal displays, including calves, piglets, and hatching
chicks. Learn all about agriculture and its impact on
the state of Texas, from the importance of farming
and ranching to the process of raising and caring for
animals.
10 WORLD OF BIRDS SHOW PRESENTS: SOAR! With a cast of new species, as well as memorable
feathered friends, “SOAR!” brings the aviary world
up-close to the audience with bird releases from the
Texas Star Ferris wheel and flyovers just inches from
guests’ heads. “SOAR!” is also filled with a wealth of
knowledge regarding bird health, habitat information,
and conservation efforts taking place across the world.
