• What provoked the development of the project idea?

• Lack of information on opportunities for economic exchange between Razgrad District and Giurgiu County;

• Lack of a common structures for both regions to support cross-border business cooperation;

• Lack of mechanisms to promote economic exchanges as general trade exhibitions, business forums, etc.



• General objective of the project: Support to the economical growth of

the region and Increasing economic activity and cooperation of companies and farmers of Razgrad District and Giurgiu County through expanding the cross-border business cooperation and improving the common regional image of the two regions.



• Specific objectives: • Strengthening cross-border business

cooperation between Razgrad District, Bulgaria and Giurgiu County, Romania;

• Expanding the cross border interaction and contacts in the economical development field;

• Better promotion and support investment initiatives.



• Target groups: Micro, small and medium

enterprises, farmers, business supporting organizations, local and regional administrations from Razgrad District and Giurgiu County.



• Project activities: – Project management;– Conducting of tender procedures; – Analysis of the current economic climate and business

contacts; – Analysis of the current legal framework and

administrative requirements for business activities in Bulgaria an Romania;



• Project activities: – Work meetings /1 in Razgrad and 1 in Giurgiu/:– Presenting the conclusions from the analyses;– Discussion on the establishment of a base for ideas

and proposals as a fundament for development of strategic documents under the project.



• Project activities: – Round tables /conferences/ - 1 in Razgrad and 1 in Giurgiu:– First round table – discussion with the participation of all

interested parties on the perspectives for economic development and cross border business cooperation between Razgrad District and Giurgiu County;

– Second round table – presenting the developed strategies under the project and discussion on the next steps in support of the mutual business cooperation and economic development.



• Project activities: – Establishment of a local informational offices for cross-

border business cooperation in Razgrad and Giurgiu:– Providing opportunities for consultations on doing business in

the both regions;– Registration and dissemination of promotional brochures of

companies from the both regions;– Elaboration of a joint marketing strategy;– Elaboration of a joint business development strategy.



• Project activities: – Organizing 6 regional trainings on the topic: “Existing

legislative framework and administrative requirements for doing business in Romania and Bulgaria” /3 in Giurgiu and 3 in Razgrad/:

– For SMEs providing services;– For SMEs in the production sector.The aim of the trainings is to establish business contacts between

SMEs from Razgrad District and Giurgiu County.



• Project activities: – Support to participation of local SMEs in annual trade

fairs (in Razgrad and Giurgiu): – Participation of SMEs from Razgrad District in 3 trade fairs

in Giurgiu;– Participation of SMEs from Giurgiu County in 3 trade fairs

in Razgrad;



• Project activities: – Organisation of specific business exchange forums (3 in

Razgrad and 3 in Giurgiu): − The business forums will accompany the participation of

local SMEs in annual trade expositions in Razgrad and Giurgiu;

− During the last business forums there will be an award ceremony for the most active representatives of the target groups throughout the project implementation.



• Project activities: – Promotional campaign: – Starting and final press conferences in Razgrad and Giurgiu;– 5 publications made in the local press, 2 radio reportages and 2

TV reportages broadcasted respectively in Razgrad and Giurgiu;

– Promotional materials:– Elaboration of a roll banner, folders and brochures.



• Project activities: – WEB site development– Versions in Bulgarian, Romanian and English languages;– Opportunity for online consultations;– Register with profiles of SMEs from Razgrad District and

Giurgiu County wishing to establish business cooperation.



• Expected results: – Improved cross border interaction;– Provided support for increasing the business contacts

and the economic development;– Established long-term partnership relations; – Reached a higher level of cooperation intensity

between businesses in the cross-border region.
