Note: Answer key is at end of presentation and should be used as a discussion starter on theme. STEP 2 | LEARN (10 MINUTES) Students will learn about and take notes on direct and indirect verbal theme spin-offs as they view Start Right Presentation 3.2 - Verbal Spin-offs. Note: Before presentation, adviser should view speaker notes below each slide. STEP 3 | PRACTICE & USE (15 MINUTES) Students will learn how to develop verbal theme spin-offs as they complete Start Right Activity 3.2 - Spinning Off in all Directions. They can use Start Right Handout 3.2 - Good to Go Themes as a brainstorming tool for their theme or select one of the themes to use. Note: This activity would be appropriate to use as an exit ticket. TO DO A class Pinterest account should be set up for staff to use to gather visual inspiration. Spinning Off in all DirectionsA catch phrase is a commonly said and recognized phrase that has reader recognition and appeal. Spin-offs are words, phrases or visuals that expand the theme concept into other sections of the yearbook. When brainstorming ideas for spin-offs, consider using direct or indirect spin-offs.
