Testing with Iodine Solution
Iodine solution can be used to test for
starch. The positive test is when the iodine
changes from orange to blue/black in the
presence of starch.
Carry out the following experiment:
• Put a little of each solid (starch, glucose, salt, sucrose) into separate dimples on the tile.
• Add 2 drops of iodine solution to each solid
• Record your results in a table.
