FACTORS AFFECTING THE SUPPRESSION EFFICIENCY OF WATER MISTEFFICIENCY OF WATER MIST
- Drop size distribution
P t ti- Penetration
- Mass flow rate
WATER MIST IS NOT A GENERIC EXTINGUISHANT !High pressure water mist of manufacturer A is not the same as
high pressure water mist of manufacturer B

PERFORMANCE-BASED APPROACH
ALL critical water mist system design and installation parameters are defined in full-scale fire tests
- Nozzle type- Nozzle type
- Operating pressure
- Spacing- Spacing
- Installation height
- Flow rate- Flow rate
- Protection volume
Marioff has done thousands of full scale fire tests

WATER MIST STANDARDS
Marioff company presentation
1.1* Scope. This standard contains the minimum requirements for the designrequirements for the design, installation, maintenance, and testing of water mist fire protection systems This standard does notsystems. This standard does not provide definitive fire performance criteria, nor does it offer specific guidance on how to design aguidance on how to design a system to control, suppress, or extinguish a fire. Reliance is placed on the procurement and installationon the procurement and installation of listed water mist equipment or systems that have demonstrated performance in fire tests as part of a p plisting process.
