Dear Parents/Carers, A very big warm welcome back and especially to any new families. The children have clearly settled into their new classes and as I walk around the school I am impressed with their behaviour and maturing attitudes. I have known many of the children since they were 5 years old and I am really enjoying getting to know them again. I have listened to some of the amazing Year 6 manifesto speeches as they try and convince the rest of the school why they should be Head Boy Or Head Girl and am genuinely very impressed by the standard! I also feel that this is a true example the British value of democracy. Elections (secret ballot voting) will take place on the 1st October. I wonder who the winners will be? arriving after that time will be considered late.

Please do not miss this deadline. The most

important thing to do now is to go to the secondary

school is like especially as the tour groups are

normally led by current pupils of that school. Please

Absences –Reminder Attending school every day is incredibly important for your child's academic and social development. If, however, your child is too unwell to attend , please ensure you inform the school by 9.00am as it is our du-ty to follow up any absences. If you need to make an appointment for your child, please arrange these outside of school hours wherever possible. If an appointment must take place during school hours, please let the school know as soon as possible and provide a copy of the appointment card/ hospital letter. We hope everyone has a happy and healthy year.

Raising Concerns We value our relationship with parents and want to ensure you get the opportunity to raise any concerns with us and that we can deal with your situation appropriate-

ly. As you can appreciate early mornings and pick up times are very busy in a school environment and not conducive to discussing concerns, especially in front of other parents or children. If you want to raise a concern about your child please

follow this procedure:

Step 1 - Ring the office or email to arrange a mutually agreeable time for a phone call or face to face meeting with the class teacher. 0208952 2731 or

[email protected] Step 2 - Arrange a meeting with the Year Group Leader (Miss Bashir(Y3), Mrs Halai

(Y4), Mrs Foley(Y5) or Mrs Kercher(Y6). Step 3 - If that has no acceptable resolution then please ask to see the Interim

Deputy Headteacher (Mrs Christofis) or the Executive Headteacher (Mrs Will).

Step 4 - If the query is about Special Needs, please phone for an appointment with the SEND leader (Mrs Tahirkheli)

Step 5 - If you feel your concern has not been addressed appropriately, then contact the Chair of Governors, Mr V. Rathod, via the school.

Hot Lunches

Following discussions with the Parent Forum

last year, the Kitchen staff have taken on sug-

gestions and trying to make their lunches

more inclusive. You can find the menu on

our website so you are aware of what they

are serving.

Packed Lunches

Please do not give children fizzy drinks,

sweets or chocolates for lunch. Crisps can be

brought in on Wednesdays and a ‘treat’ on

Fridays such as a chocolate coated cereal bar

or cake. Please do not send in chocolate bars.

Thank you for your support in teaching

our children about healthy lifestyles.

Most clubs have now started with a

good take up. There are a couple of

spaces in the following clubs if you are

interested;

• Dance

• Multi Sports

• Basketball

memorable; if you have more than one child at a ParentPay school/s you can also add children to a

single account providing one login for all children at ParentPay schools.

If you do not have access to the internet you can pay cash at local stores where you see the Pay-

Point logo by using a barcoded letter provided by the school or by using a PayPoint Card which can

be ordered for you. There is no charge for this card but if this is lost or damaged there will be a

charge of £2 to replace it. Please contact the school office if you require a PayPoint Card.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR PARENTPAY ACCOUNT REGULARLY AND DO NOT LET IT

GO OVERDRAWN, AS IT MAY RESULT IN YOUR CHILD BEING REFUSED A LUNCH

WHICH CAN BE VERY EMBARRASING FOR THEM. THANK YOU
