FRIDAY MASS at 9:00am Added to St. Pio Mass Schedule!

Beginning Friday, September 7, 2018, Fr. Greg will be celebrating weekly Mass at 9:00 am.

Please remember the “First Friday Devotions” is a set of devotions to recognize the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and through it offer reparations for sins.

This is how to complete the First Friday’s Devotion;

Receive Holy Communion on each First Friday;

On nine consecutive Fridays; And they must be made in honor and in

reparation to His Sacred Heart.

According to the words of Christ through His apparitions to Saint Mar-garet Mary Alacoque, there are several

promises to those that practice the First Friday Devotions:

"In the excess of the mercy of my Heart, I promise you that my all pow-erful love will grant to all those who will receive Communion on the First Fridays, for nine consecutive months, the grace of final repentance: they will not die in my displeasure, nor without

receiving the sacraments; and my Heart will be their secure refuge in

that last hour."

Help for Seniors I have many people that call looking for help for themselves or for an aging parent. It’s

challenging for an adult child who lives out of state or at least a great distance from their parents. If they’re unfamiliar with the programs of support that are in the area of where their parent lives, it’s natural to call the local church for help. In Macomb County there is a department called Area Agency on Aging 1-B. This is the place for seniors and their families to turn to if they have questions or need help finding resources to help a senior or a person with disability. They’re also there in support of family members who may be caregivers to their aging parent. Some of the programs AAA1B offer seniors in Ma-comb County are Meal on Wheels, Home Care, transportation, legal assistance, support groups and adult day programs. If you are calling for yourself or a loved one to see if you qualify for a Home Care program be prepared to be with one of the representatives from AAA1B for about 20 minutes on the phone. You’ll need to have information on hand to answer their questions in order to fill out your request for help. You’ll need your general infor-mation such as name, age, birth date, ad-dress, phone number and social security number. Eligibility for their Home Care programs is based in part on your finan-cial situation. You’ll need to have all your assets information on hand when making the phone call. The last thing is the level of care needed for the senior. What major medical con-cerns does this person have? What type of daily help are they looking for (bathing, dressing, home care, meal preparation)? What is it that they can no longer do for themselves? You can contact the Area Agency on Ag-ing 1-B by calling them at 800-852-7795, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. You can also complete their online form at their website which is http://aaa1b.org.

Come join us after Mass in the church and experience the Holy

Spirit at work with our newest ministry! Prayer teams are available after all week-end Masses. Intercessory prayer is a prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. Often the problems we face seem too big for us. No matter how much we try, we cannot solve them on our own.
