LITURGY CORNER You are invited… When we come together on Sunday to cele‐brate the Eucharist, we gather at two ta‐bles: the table of the Word and the table of the Eucharist. In the Word, we are nour‐ished with knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. In the Eucharist, we are nourished with the Lord, uniting us to the one body of Christ. Together, the tables satisfy our hun‐ger for meaning and for life. Wisdom in‐vites us to a better life in today’s first read‐ing. She invites us to a life that is trans‐formed from one of ignorance and foolish‐ness to one of knowledge and understand‐ing. She appeals to our desire to learn, to grow in knowledge, to advance in under‐standing. In today’s Gospel Jesus freely gives himself to all who accept his invitation to partake in the Eucharist. “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.”

Back to School Prayer
Lord, please bless all our teachers, friends and relatives as they make their way back to their classrooms for another year. Help them to feel excitement and joy in the promise of a new start. Give them everything they need to start their classes. Give them all they need all year. Give them imagination and creativity to make wonders out of what they do have. Help them quickly spot the little souls who are going to need something extra from them this year. Help them have the right words of encouragement for each student. Give them loads of love. Please keep the students and teachers safe this year. Keep them safe from accidents or evil intent. Let the students be excited about this wonderful world and all there is to learn about it. Help them to be interested in each other, for there’s a wealth to learn about and from each other, and this is true for teachers and parents as well. Give the parents willing hearts, both to help in the class-room if they can, and certainly to be involved in their chil-dren’s homework and in their stories as the year goes on. Let this be a truly wonderful year for everyone involved in education. Let everyone feel, at the end of the year, that they learned all they could and gave the best they had. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Registration is now open for the 2018 - 2019 Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) program. This program is open for children of our parish, Kindergar-ten to 7th grade. We look forward to working with you in building and strengthening your child’s relationship with the Holy Trinity, the Catholic Church, and our community of St. Philip Neri - St. Albert the Great. Children’s Faith Formation is looking for a few assist catechists for the upcoming year. Your main fo-cus would be on helping with art projects or giving a hand in directing the children.
