Learning experiences
St Peters Lutheran College provides a safe, inclusive and caring environment in which every child, since the school commenced, has had to make an individual commitment with the Principal to treat everyone with Care, Dignity and Respect. This provides a foundation for a thriving school culture in which all students are able to explore and achieve to their potential. Pastoral Care forms a part of the daily timetable from Prep through to Year 12. The High-5 Program is used in the Primary School and a Restorative Practices approach to Relational Management is used across the school. A focus on celebration of diversity is evident in the life of the College through curricular and cocurricular learning and special celebrations such as Harmony Day, Multicultural Week, NAIDOC and Reconciliation Weeks. This is reinforced by intentional focus on building a culture that honours others, such as through ANZAC Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Remembrance Day and through service activites that focus on the needs of others in our local, national and international communities. A broad range of cocurricular opportunities contribute to the discovery and development of gifts and talents and the formation of a strong character that is of life-long benefit.
