St Patrick’s story…St Patrick was born of Roman parents a long time ago. He was taken to Ireland as a slave when he was 16, and then later escaped!

St Patrick returned to Ireland later as a missionary. A missionary means St Patrick was on a religion mission to spread the word and faith of Christianity.

St Patrick travelled village to village talking about Christianity and established monasteries, churches and schools in Ireland.

St Patrick died on March 17th , 461.

Three is Ireland’s magic number and the three petals that make up the shamrock are supposed to bring good luck. The three leaves also represent the Trinity in the Christian religion (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit)

On St Patricks day…People wear green clothes.Irish music is played.Irish songs are sung.

St Patrick’s day is also celebrated in countries such as Canada, United States of America and Australia.
