New Year, Fresh Start It is easy for us to remember the problems we have had in the past. We are all human, and forgiveness can be a dif-ficult task to master. This year we are working hard to remind students that this is a new year and a fresh start. Give each other a blank slate and always be kind! We will be rolling out a new system to en-courage all of our stu-dents to be kind. Stu-dents can earn a “Shamrock,” which is a ticket they will earn when they have been “caught being kind.” Students can earn anything from a

Grandparents’ Day

Grandparents’ Day is on October 18th, begin-ning with 9:00 a.m. Mass. We will have a program as well as activities for grand-parents to enjoy with our students. The school day comes to an end with a 1:00 dismissal. All stu-dents must be picked up by 1:00. There will be no extended care in the after-noon. Please turn in your Grandparent Club Forms

The book fair will be open during your student’s lunch and recess time as well as their library time. During all hours of parent teacher confer-ences you can come in to shop as well. Something new

this year is “E-Wallet,” a safe, secure way to apply funds to an account for your child to pur-chase books with. Simply add in your payment info and print

Fourth grade just finished our science lab where we used food coloring and carnations to learn about how vascular plants carry water to different parts of the plant. One of our favorite Eng-lish activities was “Active Verb Charades” in the gym.

The sixth grade created iMovies depicting the creation story from Genesis. They also used Powtoon to create a cartoon about using their conscience. In social studies, they learned about Ham-murabi’s code and how it is based on “an eye for an eye”. In art, the sixth graders have made some very beautiful oil pastel ¼ sunflowers.
