Lenten Service Project Our students are beginning a Lenten journey of supporting local charities, such as Cherry Street
Mission, with toiletries. The teachers feel our students really want to help others in our local
community, so we have chosen toiletries to collect in these next 40 days. If you are able, please be
generous as you go shopping with your children. Talk to them about which toiletries to purchase for
those without a home. Allow them to be part of this service project - maybe they can earn some
allowance to use to purchase the items. There is no competition for this service project between
classes or grade levels. It is simply a way to help those less fortunate than us. Please bring into your
classroom teacher as you can.

Our last Spirit Wear order form for this school year is included in this newsletter. We have added a
green cinch sack to carry gym clothes or goodies. Please return with payment by Monday, April 3rd.

Leukemia/Lymphoma Pennies for Patients The last coin has been counted, and the results are in! Because we worked together, Our Pennies for Patients campaign was a big success. We raised $971 toward helping the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society meet its goal of eliminating blood cancers forever. Thank you so much for helping and encouraging your child to participate in Pennies for Patients. There’s only one more thing we’d like to ask you to do:
● Tell your child how proud you are of him or her for making a difference for the thousands of children and adults battling blood cancers!
● Give kudos to Mrs. Brigg’s 3rd grade class who brought in $146. by themselves and has earned a free Olive Garden luncheon in the near future. This class was declared the winner in Seton Hall.
● Give kudos to Mrs. Borger’s 7th grade class who brought in $49.39 by themselves and have won a Pizza Party in the near future. This class was declared the winner in Neumann Hall.

Diocesan and State Testing We began testing this week. We will continue testing (MAP - Diocesan Test and/or AIR -State Test) throughout the first week of May. With that in mind, students will have less homework assigned. Teachers are working together to make sure that there is not too much due on any single day. Teachers may assign projects that may take a few days or even a few weeks to complete. Please help your child learn the importance of time management. Projects can not be completed well in one night. There are a few ways for parents to help: 1. Talk to your child(ren) nightly about what is due the next day and what projects or assignments are coming up in the near future. 2. Make a calendar that can be put on the frig with due dates. Make the due dates stand out! 3. Check your child's assignment pad. 4. Check Gradelink. If you need Gradelink login information, contact Mrs. Abel. 5. Go over the weekly classroom newsletter with your child.
6. Please make sure child is getting enough sleep and eating breakfast. Doing these things can help your child be more successful taking tests and getting assignments complete.

We are sharing an article that has been on several social
media sights. We feel it is a wise piece of information and
worth sharing. We believe students should be reminded of
these things periodically.
Dear Parents, We would like to remind you that magic words such
as hello, please, you’re welcome, I’m sorry, and thank you, all begin to be learned at home.
It’s also at home that children learn to be honest, to
be on time, diligent, show friends their sympathy, as well as show utmost respect for their elders and all teachers.
Home is where they learn to be clean, not talk with
their mouths full, and how/where to properly dispose of garbage.
Home is also where they learn to be organized, to
take good care of their belongings, and that it’s not ok to touch others.
Here at school, on the other hand, we teach
language, math, history, geography, physics, sciences, and physical education. We only reinforce the education that children receive at home from their parents.
Attention Moms!! And Dads, too!
