PARISH MISSION STATEMENT St. Patrick Parish committed to the Eucharist and guided by the Holy Spirit strives to be a welcoming presence to all, reaching out to the spiritual, emotional, educational, social and material needs of all God’s children, both in our parish and beyond. We hope in this way to show our love for God, not only by what we say, but by the way we live our lives.

Congratulations: (CCC 1227)
“According to the Apostle Paul, the believer enters through Baptism into communion with Christ’s death, is buried with him and rises with him….The baptized have ‘put on Christ.’ Through the Holy Spirit, Baptism is a bath that purifies, justifies, and sanctifies.” Remember to pray for our newly baptized who have entered the Body of Christ on: January 22, Matthew James McDermott, son of John & Cheryl McDermott May they grow in the love and knowledge of Christ, as members of the Catholic Church.

Youth & Young Adults Calendar Peregrine Page-Turners
The Ascension Young Adult Group have a Book Club (Peregrine Page-Turners) that will meet once a month on Wednesday. Our new book that we will be starting in the new year is Orthodoxy by G. K. Chesterton. Orthodoxy (1908) is a book by G. K. Chesterton that has become a classic of Christian apologetics. In the book's preface Chesterton states the purpose is to "attempt an explanation, not of whether the Christian faith can be believed, but of how he personally has come to believe it." In it, Chesterton presents an original view of Christian religion. He sees it as the answer to natural human needs, the "answer to a riddle" in his own words, and not simply as an arbitrary truth received from somewhere outside the boundaries of human experience. The book was written when Chesterton was an Anglican. He converted to Catholicism 14 years later. Chesterton chose the title, Orthodoxy, to focus instead on the plainness of the Apostles' Creed, though he admitted the general sound of the title was "a thinnish sort of thing". The Saint Patrick Choirs Parish Outreach Ministry
HELLO AGAIN… Hello everyone! You will probably have seen me around by now or heard about me. My name is Sister Vivian Gonzalez, rmi and I’m the new Director of Parish Outreach/Evangelization. I started in the
parish on August 1 and introduced myself, but as the last group of our seasonal parishioners arrive, I found the need to re-introduce myself. I’m Cuban by birth, came to the Sates when I was nine. In 1985 I entered the convent with the Claretian Sisters in Miami, a year later I was sent to Colombia to do my novaitiate. In 1988 I professed my first vows. There is something I want everyone to know about me. I’m deaf on both ears, I have a cochlear implant which helps, but even if it’s not noticeable by most people, I do have a handicap so I ask everyone to have a bit of patience if you call me on the phone, or if you speak to me and I don’t respond, please know I’m not being mean. I’m very good with emails and definitely in person. I love chatting with people. Allow me now to share with you what my job here in the parish is. The official title in Director of Parish Outreach, I understand it more as evangelization in all areas, but more importantly I’m the Parish Sister. A parish is not a business, it is a family community, and as such it thrives in healthy relationships. That is what Fr. Aidan wants my Ministry to be about. Evangelization, prayer, and personal contact is vital for any good parish. We will strive to do this in St. Patrick. What I will be doing in the parish is to establish a personal relationship with our families, starting with the newly registered parishioners. I will be doing home visits to get to know the families and inquire about the needs you may have, as well as the talents you can offer. I firmly believe God has blessed each of us with a personal story and the parish is a privileged place to listen to that story and grow from it. Everyone benefits by sharing how God has worked in each person’s life. I look forward to meeting you and hope you will have some time to meet with me.
Let’s keep each other in our prayers. Sister Vivian
