Relationships —even genetic ones — are a mystifying reality,

and the best efforts to explain them are often poetic. They are

often described in terms of their results, as in today’s readings

on this celebration of God as a community. God’s love, peace,

truth and hope deepen our relations to one another, the Earth,

and all creatures.

Prv 8:22-31 Wisdom precedes, accompanies and reflects God in crea-

tion.

Ps 8 O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the Earth,

Rom 5:1-5 Our faith, even in suffering, brings peace and hope.

Jn 16:12-15 Jesus connects his teachings to the Spirit and the Father.

SHARING GOD’S BLESSINGS

ANNUAL APPEAL

Thanks to all our parishioners who have made their gift to the

2019 Sharing God’s Blessings Annual Appeal. St. Michael’s is

50% towards our goal of $44,721. If you have not yet made a

gift or pledge, please fill out a commitment card located in the

Church. Please help support the many programs and ministries

that assist so many in our community. The Annual Appeal pro-

vides the poor with food, shelter and clothing; makes religious

education, spiritual guidance and CYO programs available for

the young; insures the future leadership of the Church with

seminarian education and training; and most important, brings

Christ’s Good News to the people of the Archdiocese. Our par-

ish also benefits by receiving a rebate from the appeal if it

exceeds its goal. If we exceed the goal, we will use the rebate

towards future projects for the parish.

all credible complaints of sexual abuse of minors by

members of the clergy, religious, lay staff and volun-

teers of the Archdiocese. We encourage anyone with

knowledge of an act of sexual abuse of a minor to in-

form the Archdiocese immediately so that we can take

appropriate action to protect others and provide sup-

port to victims of sexual abuse.

abuse or misconduct? If you suspect a child is in immi-

nent danger from abuse, please call 911 immediately.

To report known or suspected child abuse: Contact the

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

We set this day aside to give

Our gratitude and praise

To one who is so generous

Yet silent in his ways

The father of the family

The master of the house

Whose voice may be atomic but

Is heard just like a mouse

Who likes to think he is the boss

But always is on hand

To do the greatest favor or

To meet the least demand

He has to match his monthly pay

With all the bills there are

Including life insurance

The upkeep of a car

And as he tries to do his best

According to his way

May God be extra good to him

On this his Father’s Day
