SOCIAL GATHERINGS
All social gatherings are prohibited in the churches.
Social visits and contact between people of different
households such as hand-shaking or the sharing of
communal items are not allowed.
Social visits outside the church may take place provided that
proper physical distancing is observed and that these take
place away from high-traffic areas such as the designated
entrances and exits and driveways.
Livestreamed Sunday Mass
We invite the faithful to join celebrations of the Mass
‘virtually,’ through video livestreaming from their own
parish or from St. Joseph’s Basilica with
Archbishop Richard Smith.
Sunday Mass at the Basilica is livestreamed at 10:30am
each week. Find it on the Archdiocese of Edmonton
Youtube Channel or on Facebook at

SINGING IN CHURCH
Congregational singing is a high-risk activity and is not
allowed during initial phases. Infected people can transmit
the virus through their saliva or respiratory droplets while
singing or chanting. This prohibition in Stage 1 includes
singing by a cantor or a soloist. We look to the future when
restrictions ease and allow us to resume song prayer in our
parishes. Thank you for your understanding.
FUNERALS St Mary’s is still able to help with funeral arrangements
and support if one of our parishioners passes away.
Please call the parish office for more information.

Guidelines for the Reintroduction
of the Celebration of Holy Mass STAGE ONE
The Guidelines are specific to the first phase of the
reintroduction and are in place until a new guideline is issued.
Possible exposure to the contagion must be limited. Therefore,
Masses are to be celebrated simply yet reverently and within a
shorter duration than normal.
The maximum capacity for each Mass is reduced to no more than
50 people to ensure physical distancing.
You must pre-register for Mass online at our website or by
phoning the Church.
YOU MUST BRING AND WEAR A NON-MEDICAL MASK
TO ATTEND
Upon arriving at the Parish, please ensure you are
6 feet/2 metres apart while waiting to enter the church. The
Church’s alley entrance will open 30 minutes before Mass. We
will then go through the list of pre-registered parishioners and ask
a few questions before entry into the building.
You will then need to hand sanitize and then an usher will take
you to your seat. The pews are marked with social
distancing in mind.
Donations can be made on entry into the church
in a basket provided.
There can be only one single file Communion line. Members of
the same household need not observe physical distancing with
one another during the Communion procession. Communion will
not be distr ibuted on the tongue at this time.
After Mass, everyone must use hand sanitizer and exit out the
front doors.
We are in need of volunteers who are willing to be
Safety Coordinators, Point of Entry Teams, Ushers and
Cleaning & Disinfecting Teams.
Please contact the office if you are interested.
Please know that this is all new to us, so we may have a few
hiccups before we get it right. Thank you.
Donation Options for weekly/monthly
contributions to St. Mary’s Parish: -Drop off your envelope at the office
-Mail it to St. Mary’s Parish
-Pre-authorized debit

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR PARISH
OFFICE HOURS
Monday: Closed
Tuesday-Thursday: 10:00am-4:00pm
(closed at noon for lunch)
Friday: 10:00am-Noon
The office staff have been very busy preparing to
welcome back the parishioners of St. Mary’s Parish.
You will notice many changes and things will seem so
different, but please be assured that we remain
committed to doing everything we can to protect our
parishioners, church staff, and clergy from infection.
With this in mind, the Archbishop wants to remind
everyone that we are still excused from the obligation
of attending Sunday Mass. This is especially
important for anyone who may be at a greater risk due
to health or advanced age. Online masses will
continue and are meant to be a source of
comfort and peace.
Parishioners and volunteers from demographic groups that
are at a greater risk of serious illness, such as people
65 years of age or older and individuals with chronic
medical conditions, are encouraged to stay safe by avoiding
public gatherings, but are not prohibited from attending
Mass if they so choose.
Anyone attending Mass does so at their own risk.
Grace this Week Leader: Lord Jesus, we thank you for your Word. You breathed on your disciples, and they received the Holy Spirit. (John 20:22) All: Lord, fill us with your Spirit.
Living in the Word ̶ ̶ As we open our hearts to the Word of God,
and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us how we may more faithfully put
it into practice, we encounter these challenging questions, posed by
St. Paul: "What do you have that you did not receive? And if you re-
ceived it, why do you boast as if it were not a gift?" (1Corinthians 4:7)
All is God's gift. Everything good that we have and are comes from
God. Sacred Scripture also makes known the purpose for which God
bestows gifts on his children: "Like good stewards of the manifold
grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has
received." (1Peter 4:10).(Archbishop Smith, Pastoral Letter, Sept. 14, 2017)
Pope Francis Twitter
The Holy Spirit, when we invite Him into our wounds, anoints
our painful memories with the balm of hope, because the
Spirit restores hope.
The Pope’s Monthly Intention You are invited to answer the Holy Father’s request and to join with
many people worldwide in praying for the Pope’s intention each month.
For June: The Way of the Heart
We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life,
allowing themselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus.
Prayer for Pentecost: Come Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the
fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be
created and you shall renew the face of the earth.

Knights of Columbus founder
will be beatified Pope Francis has approved a miracle
attributed to the intercession of
Father Michael McGivney, founder of
the Knights of Columbus, clearing the
way for his beatification. A date for the
beatification ceremony will be
announced later. A statement from the
Knights said the miracle involved an unborn child in the
United States who was healed in utero of a life-threatening
condition after prayers by his family to Father McGivney.
All Sacraments All postponed Sacraments will be communicated as soon as we
are able to proceed. Please continue to pray for our young
people and adults as they prepare for their sacraments.
