PASTORAL LEADER’S NOTES

Dear Parishioners, THANK YOU!!!!!!

Special thanks to the Winneconne Parish Council for organizing our 5th Annual “Winter Mingle” in Winneconne last weekend! It was an amazing event for our parish with over 95 adults enjoying delicious appetizers and a variety of beverages while getting to know each other in Kaudy Hall. There were also about 25 children enjoying games, crafts and movies along with some pizza and soda in the downstairs area of church.

The best part of all was that EVERYONE had a great time together and can’t wait to do it again NEXT year. Thanks again to everyone who helped to make this parish event such a success. This was a perfect example of what it means to be a vibrant faith community experiencing a glimpse of the Kingdom of God!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

January 26 - February 1, 2020

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It usually begins on the last Sunday in January which means it begins today, January 26. This is a good week for us to reflect on the value Catholic Education provides to young people and its contributions to our church and our communities.

We are grateful for the presence of Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh. Their mission as a Catholic School reads as follows:

“In partnership with families, parishes, and the community, Lourdes Academy provides a family environment in which students can achieve academic excellence, develop strong moral character, live as authentically Catholic disciples, and contribute positively to their communities.”

Be sure to check out their website this week at www.lourdesacadomyoshkosh.org and learn about the many opportunities our area Catholic School provides for our children.

Join us for Faith Formation Family Night

Join us January 29th for a Family Night focused on prayer. We will begin with a meal together and then you and your family will have the opportunity to explore two prayer stations of your choosing. Would you like to learn more about personal prayer, meditation, Saints, or how to pray with storybooks? Those options and more are what you have to look forward to on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Choose from one of the following sessions to attend:

5:00 pm to 6:15 pm or 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm

First stop...Kaudy Hall for a meal and intro into the evening.

During February Youth Group, students will focus

on reaching out to members in our community

who do so much and are often overlooked. We

want to shower them with “hugs.” Youth will be

putting together “Hug Winneconne” bags. These

bags will contain Hershey Hugs and will be given

to our police department, EMT’s, Librarians, and

whoever else we think needs a “Hug.”

If you would like to help us in our efforts we

could use lots of bags of Hershey Hugs. They can

be dropped off at church or the office by

February 2nd. Thank you!
