Central, 9.0 games back of Cincinnati. It was the 18th 2nd place finish for the Cardinals and their 3rd-straight. The Cardinals put together the 72nd winning season (+.500) in franchise history. The Cardinals have now compiled five consecutive winning seasons, doing so for the 5th time in franchise history. The Cardinals won 50 home games for the 2nd time (52 in 2010) since moving into Busch Std. III in 2006. The Cardinals have won 331 home games since 2006, 2nd only to Milwaukee (334) amongst NL teams. The Cardinals went a combined 16-21 (8- 7 vs. CIN, 3-3 vs. SF, 3-4 vs. WSH, 1-5 vs. ATL and 1-2 vs. DET) against teams in the postseason. SPRINGFIELD CARDINALS (AA) Texas League, North Division Record: 2nd Half 42-26, 1st (1st half: 35-35, 3rd)Springfield won the 2012 Texas League Championship with a 3-1 series win over Frisco (Rangers). It marked the St. LouisCardinals organization’s first sole league championship at the Double-A level since 1989. The Tennessee Smokies affiliatewere co-champions of the Southern League in 2004 (due to continuous rain from Hurricane Frances) for our only other AAchampionship since 1989.
