Spring Confirmation For Adults Are you an adult who has missed the Sacrament of Confirmation and would like to be confirmed in 2019? The Archdiocese of Chicago will offer preparation sessions for Confirmation. Information and the registration forms may be found at the Vicariate I website, https://vic1chicago.org/adult-confirmation. A candidate must: Be 18 years old and out of high school. Have already received the sacraments of Baptism and First Communion. On the first night, please bring: the registration form signed by a priest from your home parish and a copy of your baptism certificate. Preparation sessions will take place at St. Edna Church Doherty Center, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Sessions are Mondays, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, starting on March 11th. It is a pledge campaign where you can make a gi payable in installments. The Annual Catholic Appeal theme, “Come, Follow Me…and Share the Word,” was selected to remind us to con nue to answer Jesus’ call to follow Him in thought, word and deed by providing the necessary contribu on to fund ministries and services to share God’s love with many others in our Parish and our Archdiocese. Each pledge makes a difference! All parishes communi es par cipate in the campaign and the gi s of many enable our parishes, schools, and ministries to deliver needed services. Este fin de semana, nuestra parroquia llevará a cabo el denominado Fin de Semana de Compromiso de la Campaña Católica Anual. Por favor, recuerde que la Campaña Católica Anual es muy diferente, es una colecta especial que ocurre una sola vez y usted puede hacer un dona vo a pagar en plazos.
El tema de la Campaña Católica Anual, "Ven, sígueme... y comparte la Palabra" fue elegido para animarnos a responder al llamado que nos hace Jesús a seguirlo en pensamiento, palabra y acción. Nos recuerda que una manera de realizar dicho llamado es contribuir para financiar los ministerios y servicios que nos ayudan a compar r el amor de Dios con muchos otros en nuestra Parroquia y en nuestra Arquidiócesis.
¡Cada compromiso hace una diferencia! Todas las comunidades parroquiales par cipan en la campaña y los dona vos permiten que nuestras parroquias, escuelas y ministerios presten los servicios necesarios. Gracias por su devota consideración y generosa respuesta.

LENTEN REGULATIONS
Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years old and older on Ash Wednesday and on all the Fridays of Lent. Fasting is to be observed on Ash Wednesday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Those who are bound by this may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one's needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. The special Paschal fast, as well as abstinence, are prescribed for Good Friday and encouraged for Holy Saturday.

Abstinencia: Todos los católicos mayores de 14 años, deben abstenerse de comer carne el Miércoles de Ceniza y todos los viernes de Cuaresma. El Ayuno debe ser observado el Miércoles de Ceniza por todos los católicos que han cumplido los dieciocho (18) años pero no han llegado a los cincuenta y nueve (59). Estas personas sólo pueden hacer una comida completa, y dos comidas pequeñas si son necesarias para mantener las fuerzas, de acuerdo a las necesidades individuales, pero no se permite alimento sólido entre las comidas. El ayuno así como la abstinencia Pascual especial obliga el Viernes Santo y es recomendada en el Sábado Santo también.

Often, people ask for letter of affidavit and those can only be provided to members who are registered, active, and
contributing to the parish. How do you know if you are registered? A registered member receives correspondence from the parish. If you're not, please register. Our registration process can be completed anytime the office is open.
