Requirements: - Pupils have to write a composition of at least 80 words in
40minutes.
Reality: - The ideal length of a composition should be around 150
words. It is difficult to have too much content when a composition is too short.

Criteria for Choosing P5 HMT Students have to score at least:- • Band 1 (85marks) for Mother Tongue and, • At least 80 marks for English, Mathematics and Science In their P4 examinations (overall) Things to note:- • Student has to take both MT and HMT in P5 should they
choose to take HMT • PSLE T score is calculated based on the standard 4
subjects

• Score at least 80% of the basic questions (basic questions form 30% of the marks)
• Other considerations: • Overall performance of the student • Past years’ performance of the student
