SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
St. Joseph’s Announcements
Knights Corner
Keep Christ in Christmas Card Sales - - We will continue our sale of Christmas Cards the weekend of Nov 1-2 in front of the Church. We have the new cards in stock with artwork created by one of our own Parishioners. They are selling fast and we may
need to order additional cards. If you are unable to be there after one of the masses, just give Bill Burdick a call at 860-322-4151 and he will meet you at the Parish Center at your convenience where we store our cards. Next Movie - Solanus Casey - - Our next movie is on Nov 7, Friday, 7pm at the St Josephs Parish Center. This film explores the heroic life of a remarkable, modern day mystic, Father Solanus Casey. Known as a wonder-worker and a powerful instrument of divine healing and hope, he touched countless lives. His untiring attention to the sick and poor, combined with his prayers, wise counsel, and burning faith brought an unprecedented outpouring of grief at his death in 1957. As a part of his canonization process, the exhumation of his body in 1987 revealed him to be "remarkably intact, and well preserved," seemingly defying corruption. Please bring a pillow to sit on. Next Knights of Columbus Meeting - - Our next Council meeting is on Nov 9, starting after the 10am mass at the Parish Center. This is a potluck event for Knights and their Families. Monthly Coffee Social - - There is no monthly coffee social in November. Parish Bus Trip to NYC - - Our Lady of Sorrows and St Josephs are planning a bus trip to New York City on Dec 13, 2014. We will have one 54 passenger bus. We depart the St Josephs Parish Center parking lot at 8:30am. We leave New York City at 7pm to return to the Parish Center. The day will include holy mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral at 5:30pm. The cost of the trip per person is $35.00 per seat, for both adults and children. There are still plenty of seats available. Reerve your seat (s) and submit your payment (s) by Nov 7. For more information, please contact Bill Burdick at 860-322-4151 or Mike Berdensey at 860-304-6839.
