Attention Life Savers Our Spiritually Adopted babies are soon to be born! Join us at a “baby shower” potluck celebration on Saturday, April 21, following the 4:00 pm Mass. We will be providing the punch, dessert, games and prizes and ask you to bring a dish to pass and an unwrapped gift (see baby’s wish list) for your Spiritually Adopted baby. These gifts are used to supply our baby bags delivered to needy babies at the hospital. If you cannot attend and would still like to donate a gift, you may place it in the bassinet at church. Sign up sheets for the potluck are on the table next to the parish office. Any questions, contact Mary Jane Moffett at (715) 462-9060.

Save the Date! Pancake Breakfast The youth will be sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 6, before and after the masses. Watch the bulletin for more information!

From the Desk of……

Fr. Gerard

Dear parishioners, visitors, guests and benefactors— This weekend at St. Joseph Parish in Hayward, we will hold our parish council elections. It is important that we get candi-dates to run for these positions. It is not always easy for peo-ple to step forward. The involvement of the parishioners on the council and committees show the vitality of the parish com-munity. Thank you to those who are running and also those presently serving on parish councils in both parishes. Your interest, dedication and commitment is greatly appreciated. First Lutheran Church in Hayward provides a community supper every Wednesday. Once a month, members from St. Joseph Parish help out with the community supper. We have provided this service for many years to the community for which I am grateful. After many years, the wear and tear of the kitchen has shown its age. First Lutheran needs to update, replace and fix a number of things in their kitchen to continue serving the community meals. Since we are so actively in-volved with the community meals, we have been asked to sup-port their fundraising project. There will be a Spring Fling at Treeland Resorts on Friday, April 27 from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. You are encouraged to attend that fundraising event. You also may make contributions directly to the project. A separate account has been set up through First Lutheran Church for that cause. Additional information is available. Your generos-ity and interest in this project is greatly appreciated. Just a reminder that next Sunday, April 22, the second grad-ers will make their First Holy Communion at the 10:15 mass. The mass most likely will run a little longer. Thank you for your understanding. May God Bless you always. As ever—

Fr. Gerard Willger St. Ann & St. Joseph Spiritual Adoption—Week 37 “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:15a, 19 Baby is ready, but continues to build layers of fat to help con-trol body temperature after birth. Baby measures about 20 inches and is a bit over 7 pounds. The outer layers of skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

One Million Rosaries for Unborn Babies You are invited to participate in this pro-life event which has taken place for about 10 years with over 70 countries world-wide participating. Participants are asked to pray at least one Rosary on May 4, 5 or 6 for an end to abortion. To register for this prayerful event, please contact Bob & Mary Ornberg at (715) 699-1287 or email [email protected].

Rummage Sale—May 11-12 If you are starting your spring cleaning, please consider saving and donating your items for our rummage sale to be held Fri-day and Saturday, May 11-12. Items may be brought in during the week of May 7. Also, anyone interested in helping out with the rummage sale, please call Sandy at (715) 634-2548.

Coming Events

Garage Sale! - St. Ann’s Altar Society will be having their annual garage sale in June. If you have any household items in good condition you would like to donate to the church, you can drop them off inside of the garage that is not attached to the house any time it is convenient for you. No electronics please! More information will follow. Food Shelf—This month our local food shelf is asking for boxed meals, tuna, baking goods, but not flour or cereal. Thank you very much for your continued support!

Spiritual Adoption—We are coming to the end of our 9-month journey and many have donated money and special gifts for the little ones. If you still want to share in giving hope and gifts for the babies, please do so by April 15. There is a box for clothing or other gifts in the back of church by the St. Ann statue. You can still make a financial donation by putting it in an envelope marked “spiritual adoption” and place in the collection box. Please do not put in the large gift box. Remember—we are not having a shower this year, but all gifts will be distributed to people and families in our area. Thank you and God Bless. ~ Julie Rottier (715) 794-2811
