Bridge Buddies Classes:

The St. Johns Bridge Buddies Educational Preschool Program is based on the philosophy that children develop & grow at their own rate. In order to grow & develop their senses a child must “play” by exploring & manipulating their environment. To enhance this experience, the classroom is set up in learning centers that enable children to explore different areas of development such as fine motor, socialization, pre-math, pre-reading & listening skills. Preschool for your child is the foundation for academic learning. The St. Johns Bridge Buddies program follows the traditional school schedule with children enrolled September through early June.

Bonny began practicing yoga in 2003 and found it spiritually and physi-cally complimentary to her experiences as a life-long dancer. Seeking a deeper understanding and with a strong desire to guide others, Bonny studied at the Lotus Seed School in Portland and became a certified Vinyasa yoga

teacher in 2011. She is currently continuing her education at the Bhakti Shop, pursuing her 500hr certification. Bonny’s classes are focused on connecting movement with breath in fluid sequences to promote strength, grace, and stability in the body. Her focus as a yoga instructor is to help others feel empowered through their practice by providing a sup-portive environment where students of all levels, and with various challenges, can have a rewarding and meaningful experience. She is also a tribal belly dancer who actively teaches and performs in the Portland area. For more information, please visit her web site at: www.dancingyogini.webs.com.

Within the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) of 1990, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) provides accommodations to individuals with disabilities/special needs, so that they may receive an equal opportunity to participate in pro-grams offered citywide.

1. Choose the activity you would like to par-ticipate in, and then the PP&R site where the activity is being offered.

2. Register for the activity. You can do this in person at a PP&R site, or on-line at www.PortlandParks.org. When registering, let the person know that you will need accommoda-tions in order to participate in the activity (online, check the box.)

3. Once registered, please contact Inclusion Services at 503-823-4328. If this is your first accommodation through Inclusion Services you will need to do a phone intake with a staff member. At the end of the phone intake, it will be determined whether an assistant will be needed on the first day of the activ-ity to provide on-site support. Future assis-tance will be provided based on need. The inclusion staff will work with the instructor on how to support you and your individual needs.

A general program may be adapted using auxil-iary aids and services, but the basic structure of the program remains the same. Accommodations are made as needed, and can be flexible and creative. Participants need to register for activities that are intended for their birth age. Personal care is provided for activities in the pre-school and youth category, up through age 12.

If you have questions about Inclusion Services, please call 503-823-4328 V/TTY. A minimum of 10 business days (Monday-Friday) advance notice is required. The Inclusion Services staff will do their best to accommodate each participant.
