St GeorgeBy Leo Rusher
Birth• St George was born in the third
century which is believed to be 270 A.D in Cappadocia which is now known as East Turkey.
Mid Life• In St George's Middle ages he was
baptised at the age of seventeen. Soon after he joined the Roman Army to become a soldier for his bravery. George then chose his faith over his armor and became a soldier of God.
The dragon
• As most of us know St George slayed a dragon but not any dragon this was a big, vicious dragon that wanted to destroy the town that George stayed at in England. George the fought a battle with the dragon and won!
Death
• St George’s death was not a happy one because the Roman Empire did not like George because he gave up the army so the Empire put a price on George's head and soon after that he was hung to die.
Canonized
• St Georges feast day is on the twenty third of April
Why I chose him
• I chose St George because he was a guardian of his people and did everything with pride and respect which is what I want to do.
