Jesus said to him, I am the way and the truth and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me. (Jn 14: 5-6)
In this short statement, Jesus utters one of his supreme affir-
mations, which combines in one sentence the most funda-
mental ideas that have been brought out in the gospel. In
John’s gospel Jesus applies himself the name God revealed
to Moses at Mount Sinai “I am who I am.” With this, Jesus
makes clear his intimate communion and union with the Fa-
ther: Jesus and the Father are one. Jesus has come so that hu-
man beings may have life, and have it in abundance. His only
gift is life, and he is able to give it because the divine life is
present in him in original and inexhaustible fullness. Jesus
gives us life because he gives us God. He can give God be-
cause he himself is one with God, because he is the son. He
himself is the gift – he is life. (Pope Benedict XVI, Jesus of
Nazareth)
“Our blessed Lord left the world without leaving any written
message. His doctrine was himself. Ideal and history were
identified in him. The Truth that all other ethical teachers
proclaimed, and the light they gave to the world, was not in
them, but outside them. Our Divine Lord, however, identified
divine wisdom with himself. It was the first time in history
that it was ever done, and it has never been done
since.” (Archbishop Fulton Sheen)
My brothers and sisters, if you have lost you way and the
paths seem too many and overwhelming come back to him
who is the way to your true destiny: communion of life and
love with him. If you are tired of broken promises and con-
stant lies, perhaps even confused amid the many and at times
deceiving voices of those who claim to know just what you
need, come to Jesus and he will lead you to the fullness of
truth, to the heart of the Father. If you labor and are bur-
dened, feel empty, lonely, uncertain, dishearten, dry, without
much to live for, draw near to Jesus who is Life and you will
find rest and refreshment for your souls.

The Confirmation Masses have been scheduled for Saturday, May
30, 2020 at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, both in Spanish. The third Mass
is scheduled for Sunday May 31, 2020 at 12:00 pm in English.
We have set up Zoom sessions to complete the required education
for the Confirmation class. The dates and times of those classes will
be sent out on the Remind app and on the St Edward’s Youth Group
page on Facebook.

Amado Padre:
Te damos gracias por nuestras madres a
las que tu les has confiado el cuidado
precioso de la vida humana desde su
inicio en el vientre. Tú has dado a la mujer
la capacidad de participar contigo en la
creación de nueva vida.
Haz que cada mujer puede llegar a com-
prender el pleno significado de esta bendi-
ción, que le da una capacidad ilimitada de
amor desinteresado a todos los niños.
Mira a cada madre que está esperando un
hijo, fortalece su fe en Tu paternal cuida-
do y amor para ella y para su bebé. Dale
valentía en tiempos de miedo o dolor, la
comprensión en los momentos de incerti-
dumbre y duda, y la esperanza en tiempos
de problemas.

Jesús le respondió: Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Nadie va al Padre, sino por mí.” (Jn 6,5-6)
En esta breve declaración, Jesús pronuncia una de sus afirmaciones supremas, que combina en una so-
la frase las ideas más fundamentales que se han planteado en el evangelio. En el evangelio de Juan,
Jesús se aplica a sí mismo el nombre de Dios revelado a Moisés en el Monte Sinaí: "Yo soy el que
soy." Con esto, Jesús deja en claro su íntima comunión y unión con el Padre: Jesús y el Padre son uno.
Jesús ha venido para que los hombres tengan vida y la tengan en abundancia. Su único don es la vida,
y la vida que él es capaz de dar, porque la vida divina está presente en él en plenitud de un modo origi-
nario e inagotable. Jesús nos da la vida, porque él nos da Dios. Él puede dar a Dios porque él mismo es
uno con Dios, porque él es el hijo. Él mismo es el don - que es la vida. ( véase Papa Benedicto XVI,
Jesús de Nazaret)
"Nuestro Señor se fue de este mundo sin dejar ningún mensaje escrito. Su doctrina era él mismo. Ideal
e historia se identificaron en él. La verdad que todos los otros maestros de moral proclamaban, y la luz
que le dieron al mundo, no estaba en ellos sino fuera de ellos. Nuestro Divino Señor, sin embargo,
identificó la sabiduría divina con sí mismo. Fue la primera vez en la historia que esto se hizo y nunca

Mis hermanos y hermanas, el evangelio nos llama hoy a abrazar y recibir con fe la plenitud de la reve-
lación de Jesús de sí mismo y del Padre. Si has perdido tú camino y los senderos parecen demasiados y
abrumadores regresa a Él, que es el camino a tu verdadero destino: la comunión de vida y amor con él.
Si estás cansado de promesas incumplidas y mentiras constantes, tal vez incluso confundido ante las
múltiples y a veces engañosas voces de aquellos que dicen saber todo lo que necesitas, ven a Jesús y él
te llevará a la plenitud de la verdad, al corazón del Padre. Si estás cargado de trabajo y te sientes vacío,
solo, incierto, descorazonado, seco, sin mucho por que vivir, acércate a Jesús, que es la vida y encon-
trarás descanso y alivio para tu alma.
