We had a few m emb en from the St. Croix Squadron attend Black CAP XXV again thiE year, and e v eryoneEai d they had a great time. It E :fun and challenging at the Earne time. My daughter was going to the Black CAP XXV ev ent and EO I decided to [oln her. I als 0 heard that it was moreinfurrualin regard to cuato ms and courtesies, whichI'm attll learnlng. You know, co v er (not cap) off when Ienter a building. Co v er 0 n when I exit etc. _. While I didn t get to sp end time with my daughter that weekend,it did gtv 1 3me a chanc 1 3to ha v 1 3commo n exp erienc eE that w 1 3 still talk and laugh ab 0 ut. I als 0 rec eiv ed Eom 1 3excellent training in both E S and how to execute EOme b asic marching drills . On Saturday, 03 0 ctob er 200 Q , the St. Cro ix Comp 0 sit.e Squadron, Civ il Air P atro 1 (CAP) P arti cip ated in an1 3v ent in Eupp ort 0 fthe 200 Q Boy Sc 0 ut F all Camp 0 ree, whi ch was held at Lake E lmo Park ReE erf 1 3 ,LakeElmo, MN".

Our day started at 0800 and lasted until 1600hours. ThiE wa Ea joint effu:tt in co~ unctio n with the Hi v erw 0 0

DiEtrict of the Boy Sc 0 uta 0 fAmeric a and the St. Oro ix Squadro n wa Ein v ited to p arti cip ate in a weekend oftraining and fun. W 1 3were in v ited to put 0 n a training mo dule to help the v ario UE ECout tro opE achie v 1 3b a dgeEand to learn new and different ekills. The Hi v erwo 0 d Di stn et 0 fthe B oy Scouta of Americ a has approxim ately20 different Tro 0 p Ewithin their group E,which add up to nearly 200 Scouta and Sc 0 ut Masters in attendanc 1during thiE end of summ er 1 3v ent. Thi E 1 3v ent Etarted on Frt day aft.erno on and ended 0 n Sunday mo ming. Allof the Ecout tro 0 P Ein attendanc 1 3ha d pitched t.ent.s,made their own fo 0 d and had endured the cool anddamp weekend.

We put on a Eenes directio n finding (DF) demo nstra tio n fur the v arious Ecout tro 0 P E,which were inattendanc 1 3 ,and going from training EeEsion to EeEEion. Each group 0 f Ecouta numb ered appro xim ately 8 to 12

per gro up. We had 2 Eenio r m emb era and 2 cadets which met each group as the appro ached 0 ur area for thedirecti on finding demo nstra tion . FirEt we ga v 1 3 each group a briefintro duction 0 n the Civ il Air P atro I, who ware and what it iEwe do . Next we ga v 1 3 each group a cloE 3 up and Eemi hands on demo nstra ti on of direetio nfinding. We had 0 ur practic 1 3Emergency Lo catio n Transmi tter (E LT) pla ced 0 ut in the fi eld a few hundredyardE from our training 10 ca ti on. We were able to take each group thro ugh a Em alltrt angulatio n demons tratio n with our cadets leading each group.

At the no ontim 1 3b reak fur 1unch, all 0 fthe EcOUtEm aat.ers and EcOUtEgathered at themain meeting amp hi theater area to hear a b rtef lecture on the Civ il Air Patrol 0 n ourmi Esion and demo nst ratio n with the directio n finding equiprn ent,
