A message from Fr. Jim . . .
The spring time of the year brings with it many celebrations which center around a number of sacraments,
namely the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, the Sacrament of Confirmation, and the Sacrament of
Holy Orders.
The children from our three parishes will receive our Lord in Holy Communion for the first time this weekend of
April 28/29 at St. Charles and on Sunday, May 6th at St. Joseph and St. Mary. What a wonderful day for them!
For those of us who had this wonderful day some years ago, perhaps we could offer a prayer of thanksgiving for
the gift of the Eucharist that we may sometimes take for granted.
Although the young people of our parishes already received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday, March
22nd, many other parishes are still celebrating this sacrament at this time. Our young people prepare diligently
for this big step in their faith lives. For those of us who have already received the gift of the Holy Spirit through
the Sacrament of Confirmation, perhaps we could offer a prayer thanking God for the gift of His Spirit, and ask
Him to help us use it to make our families, society and Church better places.
This year the Archdiocese of Milwaukee can give thanks for the gift of four new priests!
Rev. William Arnold, Rev. Andrew Infanger, Rev. John LoCoco and Rev. Aaron Laskiewicz will be ordained to
the priesthood on Saturday, May 19th at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. With the shortage of priests as
severe as it is, we can all offer a prayer of thanks for these four men who are accepting the responsibility of
priestly ministry. Please continue to pray for more vocations to the priesthood and for those who are preparing
for ordination.
Congratulations to all of these people and their families on these momentous occasions. May the Lord bless
them and continue to watch over them as they grow in the faith of the Church!
God bless you always.
Father Jim Volkert
Congratulations to the following children who will be receiving the Sacrament of 1st Holy
Communion this weekend! May you always feel love and presence of the Lord as you receive
Him in holy communion.

Thank you for your donations to the 2018 Lenten Rice Bowl campaign. Together we raised $2,400. 25% of that money will help the needy in our local community serviced by St. Vincent de Paul. The rest of your dona-tions will assist Catholic Relief Services’ in providing agricultural projects, basic health and nutrition ser-vices, sanitation and clean water access, and educa-tional programs in many places around the world.During Lent we collected over $1600 for the youth and adult mission trips taking place this summer in our tri-parish. A portion of next week’s 5th Sunday Collection shall be added to this amount to help our groups reach out to others. God Bless you for your generosity!

Fr. Carlos
