St. Catherine Labouré (Zoe) was born 1806 in Fain-Les-Moutiers France, 9th of 11 children. She entered the Sisters of Charity in 1830 and took the name Catherine. In November 1830 Mary appeared to her and asked for a medal to be made (Miraculous Medal). Mary had rays coming from gems on her fingers. Those without rays symbolized graces we forget to ask for. For the next 46 years Catherine led a hidden life, and cared for old men. She died on 12/31, 1876. She was canonized in 1947. Her body is incorrupt to this day.

Confirmation Saint Report Exhibition
The 25TH International Week of Prayer and Fasting coalition in collaboration with the Marians Fathers, Le-gion of Mary and Priests for Life, are asking for indi-viduals, families, prayer groups and parishes to unite for nine days (Oct 1st – 9TH) of prayer and fasting for the following goals: Conversion of all Peoples and Nations, to Build a Cul-ture of Life, to Defend the Sanctity of Marriage and Family Life, to Pray for Peace and to Implore God’s Mercy. Parishes are encouraged to host holy hours, recitation of the Rosary, Masses and some kind of sacri-fice or penance during these nine days. For the final day, on Monday, October 9th, please join us at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. from 9 am – 4:30 pm for the International Day of Prayer. Registration is FREE, but please register online at www.iwopf.org to receive a free prayer card at the Basilica event. The Celebrant and Homilist for the noon mass will be Bishop Joseph Perry, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdio-cese of Chicago, IL. Meditación del Papa Francisco Cuando abrimos el corazón en la verdad de nuestros pecados, es el lugar privilegiado del encuentro con Jesucristo. Reconocer nuestra miseria, reconocer lo que nosotros somos y lo que somos capaces de hacer o hemos hecho es pre-cisamente la puerta que se abre a la caricia de Jesús, al perdón de Jesús, a la Palabra de Jesús «Ve en paz, tu fe te ha salvado», porque has sido valiente y has abierto tu corazón al único que puede salvarte. Jesús dice a los hipócritas que las prostitutas y los publicanos les precederán en el Reino de los Cielos. "¡Es fuerte esto! Porque los que se sienten pecadores abren su corazón en la confesión de los pecados, al encuentro con Jesús, que ha dado la sangre por nosotros. (Cf. Papa Francisco, homilía en santa Marta, 18 de septiembre de 2014) Reflexión El misterio eucarístico es el corazón de la vida cristiana. La Eucaristía es el mayor acto de amor que se haya realizado en la humanidad, ya que es el sacrificio de Cristo por nuestra salvación. Es el cumplimiento de las palabras y promesas que Jesús dijo estando en el mundo. Jesús nos habló del amor "hasta el extremo", ¡y qué amor tan apasionado me demostró al sacrificarse por mí! Nosotros somos distintos. Muchas veces nuestro egoísmo hace que no acudamos a la invitación de Cristo de ir a traba-jar a su lado. Ahora es el tiempo de decirle: “Sí, Señor, ten la seguridad de que acudiré a tu viña para ayudarte”. Necesita-mos ingeniárnoslas para ver cómo podemos hacer feliz a la Persona que nos amó y ama tanto, buscando lo que más le agrada. Y lo que Cristo quiere es nuestro corazón y nuestra vida entera, para que trabajemos junto a Él en la viña de nuestro entorno social, para poder realizarnos dándonos a nosotros mismos y ayudar a los demás; dando testimonio de su amor.
