Spennteknikk has been one of Scandinavia’s leading companies in the field of post-tensioned structures, stay-cables, bearings and expansion joints for bridges and larger buildings for many years. The company is also a respected supplier of bearings and dampers for the international offshore industry.
Spennteknikk provides services in the area of design, construction and follow-up of onshore/off-shore facilities. Production and installation takes place using modern production equipment at the company’s offices and plant in Kongsvinger, a strategically central location both in relation to Scandinavia and all international markets.

Spennteknikk is an experienced and major supplier of BBR post-tensioning systems for bridges and large buildings in Scandinavia. The Helgeland Bridge in Sandnessjøen is one of many bridges in which the BBR Post-Tension systems was the preferred choice, and where the company’s expertise was needed in critical areas such as in heavy lifting and lowering, in supplying and installing rock anchors and in the delivery and installation of stay-cables. TOBE pot bearings and Tensa Lastic Expansion Joints – developed and manufactured by Spennteknikk – were also supplied.

BBR Cona Single system
Spennteknikk has been using the BBR Cona Single system since pre-stressing reinforcement in post-tensioned structures was introduced into Europe in the 1970s. Over the years the company has been responsible for supplying several million square meters of this product, which has been used in the design and construction of a large number of tankers and silos for water, sludge, etc. BBR Cona Single is a reliable and field proven tensioning system in which design, production, installation and pre-stressing have been reliably documented using a QA-system in accordance with NS-EN ISO 9001.
Spennteknikk supplies BBR Cona Single systems for post-tensioned concrete slabs and beams for larger buildings in which the objective is to minimise size. Spennteknikk also supplies Macalloy bar systems, which are used to anchor building parts and in bridge piers.

Spennteknikk has operated as manufacturer and supplier to the offshore industry since 1978, and during this time the company has developed significant expertise and experience in the use of elastomeric products for structures subject to movement and heavy loads. Typical deliveries are elastomeric bearings installed in critical supports exposed to movements and vibrations for various types of offshore vessels, such as FPSO’s, LNG tankers and living modules on production platforms. The bearings are efficient for eliminating constraint forces between structural parts. The company’s TOBE bearings in modified versions are used in many offshore structures, and the company’s products are used both nationally and internationally in new offshore installations.

Special Services
Spennteknikk has been a major supplier for the constructions of nuclear power plants in Sweden and Finland. The company is involved, for example, in the continuous control and assessment of nuclear power plants for Swedish Vattenfall. Spennteknikk has also completed a number of major tanker projects using the BBR Cona Post Tension system, such as the LNG tankers at Kårstø, the FOA waste water plant and the silo plant for Union Skien. Spennteknikk carries out a number of special assignments using special hydraulic equipment for heaving lifting and lowering. The company also has a modern mechanical workshop that produces equipment according to the clients’ specifications.
