SAINT BRIGID’S KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP!!
Kairos Prison Ministry is a lay-led, Christian ministry in which volunteers bring Christ’s LOVE and FORGIVENESS to residents and their families.A team of St Brigid parishioners is vol-unteering for the Kairos retreat at the London Correctional facility November 1-4. The volunteers bring cookies to give to residents of the facility and employees of the insti-tution. We need 1,400 DOZEN (that’s right, dozen) and they need your help in making cookies for this ministry.
HERE ARE THE DETAILS:
• Bake cookies (best are chocolate chip, no powdered or
loose sugar, not crumbly) and say a prayer for the resi-dents and volunteers while baking the cookies.
• Package the cookies in zip lock baggies, ONE (1) doz-
en per bag. (Important: Please let the cookies com-pletely cool before placing in the bags.) Plastic bags are available in the bins in the collection closet in
Hendricks Hall.
• For a really easy way to make the cookies, GFS offers
frozen chocolate chip cookie dough in 10 dozen boxes, already formed and ready to bake. (Hint: if you use parchment paper, cleanup is super easy) Mention Kairos at checkout for a discount.
• Bring the cookies to the collection bins located in the
collection closet in Hendricks Hall October 7 through October 27, 2018.
Contact Joe Moore if you have any questions: [email protected] or 614-625-2815

We want to remember and offer our prayers for those who have died.
Jean Julia Marie (Kachurowski) Newlon, 95, passed away on Septem-ber 16, 2018 at the Sanctuary in Dublin, OH. Jean was Canadian by birth and became a naturalized US citizen in 1963. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George. She and her husband have been parishioners of Saint Brigid of Kildare for several years and had many friends here. Her five children
and two step-children and their spouses, her grandchildren and their spouses and their families, her many friends, especially the “9 o’clock daily Mass crowd”, will treasure and be nourished by the memories they created together. Jean was a dedicated and committed nurse throughout her life. Her family and her faith were her strongholds. Always a woman of deep and solid faith, Jean held strong opinions about politics and religion, around which she loved to en-gage others in conversation. Her Catholic faith and deep love for the Blessed Mother sustained Jean throughout her life. The Mass of Christian Burial was offered on September 24, 2018 at St. Brigid of Kildare Church. May Jean, and all those who have died, rest forever in the loving, merciful arms of God.
