QUOTE OF THE WEEK

You say “life isn’t fair”? Good for you it isn’t, you’d be a

lot worse off if it was.

“With such affection for you, we were determined to share with

you not only the gospel of God, but our very selves as well, so

dearly beloved had you become to us.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8

St. Paul’s desire to serve others led him not only to share the

gospel, but to give all that he could of himself. A steward, like

St. Paul, understands we are not meant for ourselves, but to be

shared with others.

Be a part of our CAN-MUNITY What are we doing?

St. Bernard students are participating in the Dare to Care food drive. This drive helps the Dare

to Care organization to provide food to people who don’t have enough to eat.

What can we bring?

Tuna Cereal Soup Canned Fruit

Beans Pasta Fruit Juice Rice

Canned Veggies Peanut Butter

$$$$- $1 provides 4 meals and equals 10 cans

Facts

Kentucky is the fourth highest in the Country in rates of hunger.

One in five children face this crisis.

Dare to Care provides the “Backpack Buddy” program. This provides weekend nutrition to

students in over 20 schools.

Dare to Care helps with the “Kid’s Café” program- providing meals to kids in 13 counties of

Kentucky.

St. Bernard’s Goal

Our goal for 2018 is to have in a total of 1,500 cans.

Last year’s goal of 1,000 was exceeded, totaling 3,800, so we know we can provide 1,500 this

year!

How you can help

Please join us in our effort to provide for families in our community. Boxes are placed in the

back of church near the entrances. You may deposit any of the food items listed above in these

boxes. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation, put your donation in an envelope

I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry.
