Querida Comunidad de San Agustín:
El Tercer Domingo de Adviento es llamado “Domingo de Gaudete” o Domingo de la Alegría, por la primera palabra de la Introducción de la Misa; es decir, regocíjense. La vestimenta del sacerdote es color rosa - ¡un signo de gozo! y encendemos la tercera vela de la Corona de Adviento, la vela rosada.
Hoy nuestra Corona de Adviento está más iluminada y esto nos invita a reflexionar en la luz. Necesitamos la luz para poder ver. Al levantarnos, lo primero que hacemos al abrir los ojos es adaptarnos a la luz. Cuando no hay luz, podemos tropezar; el camino se nos hace más fácil cuando está bien iluminado. Este fin de semana el Evangelio de San Juan (Jn 1, 6-8. 19-28) nos presenta la figura de Juan el Bautista como testigo de la Luz.
Juan el Bautista nos recuerda nuestra identidad de cristianos, ser testigos de ese Sol de Justicia que es Jesús. Esta es nuestra tarea como hijos de Dios, ponernos delante del Sol de Amor y dejar que Su luz se refleje en nosotros; así como la luna, refleja la luz del sol. Que cada vez que nos vean, puedan ver a Dios en nosotros. Que podamos ser un vivo reflejo de Su amor.
¿Qué debemos hacer para irradiar a Dios? Debemos tener un encuentro personal con Él, como Juan. En nuestra vida necesitamos el silencio de la oración y estar a solas con Dios para poder escuchar Su voz. Él siempre nos está hablando, pero muchas veces no lo escuchamos por el ruido que llevamos dentro.
El encuentro íntimo con el Sol de Amor, hará que Su luz nos ilumine. La luna ilumina más, cuando se encuentra directamente frente al sol. Nuestro encuentro con el sol se da en el contacto directo con Cristo Eucaristía. Si la Eucaristía nos irradia amor, debemos de irradiar amor; si nos irradia paz, debemos irradiar paz; si nos irradia alegría, debemos irradiar alegría. Que nuestra vida sea siempre, ser testigos de la luz.
Este jueves, 17 de diciembre, a las 6:30pm tendrá lugar el Servicio de Reconciliación Parroquial. Varios sacerdotes han confirmado que estarán disponibles para escuchar sus confesiones y ser instrumentos del perdón de Dios en su vida. Recuerden que la mejor forma de recibir al Señor es teniendo un corazón limpio de pecado. No pierdan esta oportunidad,
hagan tiempo para estar con nosotros.
¡Que Dios los bendiga abundantemente!
Dear Community of St. Augustine:
The Third Sunday of Advent is called “Gaudete Sunday” or Sunday of Joy, after the first word of the Introduction of the Mass – Rejoice. The color of the Priest’s vestment is rose, a sign of joy, and the third candle of the Advent wreath, a rose candle, is lit.
Today, our Advent wreath is more illuminated, which invite us to reflect about the light. We need light to be able to see; when we wake up and open our eyes, the first thing we do is to try to get used to the light. When there is no light, we might stumble into something, it is harder to walk when there is no light. This weekend, the Gospel of St. John (Jn 1: 6-8, 19-28) presents John, the Baptist, as a witness to the light.
John, the Baptist reminds us of our Christian identity, to be witnesses to that Sun of Justice – Jesus. This is our task as children of God, to place ourselves in front of the Sun of Love and let His light reflect on us as the moon reflects the sunlight, so that every time people see us, may see God in us. May we be a vivid reflection of His love.
How can we radiate God? We must have a personal encounter with Him, like John did. We need the silence of prayer in our life, to be alone with God, to be able to listen to His voice. He speaks to us always, but many times we do not listen because of the noise we carry inside.
The intimate encounter with the Sun of Love will make His light illuminate us. The moon illuminates more when it is directly in front of the sun. Our encounter with the sun takes place in our direct contact with Christ in the Eucharist. If the Eucharist radiates love to us, we should radiate love. If it radiates peace to us, we should radiate peace. If it radiates joy, we should radiate joy. May our lives always be to be witnesses to the light.
This coming Thursday, December 17th, at 6:30pm, we will celebrate our Reconciliation Service. Several priests have confirmed that will be able to come to listen to your confessions and be instruments of God’s pardon in your lives. Remember that the best way to receive the Lord is with a heart clean of sins. Do not miss this opportunity and make time to be here with us.

In this work, I present a new theological vision of the Parousia, in other words, a different and innovative outline of the three phases of the Parousia (the presence of our lord Jesus Christ in the past, present and future). I explain how I arrived at these definitions, and what brought me to this theological conclusion, and what were the criteria by which I arrived at this new theological vision.
En este trabajo presento una nueva visión teológica sobre la Parusía, es decir, un esquema diferente e innovador sobre las tres fases de la Parusía (la presencia de nuestro señor Jesucristo en el pasado, presente y futuro). REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS! Today is “Gaudete” Sunday, the Sunday to rejoice. This feast day gives Advent its true character. It is indeed primarily a season of joy. It is not, like Lent, primarily a time of penance. There is too much anticipation for that. All-overriding is the experience of joy. We are joyful already now because we know that the Lord will come. Our expectation leads to joy and our joy to a desire to give to others. Real joy always wants to share. It belongs to the nature of joy the gifts we have received. Advent is indeed a time of joyful waiting and joyful giving. The period before Christmas has that remarkable quality of joy that seems to touch Christians.
¡ALEGRESE EN EL SEÑOR SIEMPRE! Hoy es “domingo de gaudete”, el domingo para regocijarse. Esta fiesta le da al Adviento su verdadero carácter. De hecho, es principalmente una temporada de alegría. No es, como la Cuaresma, principalmente un tiempo de penitencia. Hay demasiada anticipación por eso. Lo primordial es la experiencia de la alegría. Ya estamos gozosos ahora porque sabemos que el Señor vendrá. Nuestra expectativa conduce al gozo y nuestro gozo al deseo de dar a los demás. La verdadera alegría siempre quiere compartir. Pertenece a la naturaleza del gozo los dones que hemos recibido. El Adviento es de hecho un tiempo de espera gozosa y dádiva gozosa. El período anterior a la Navidad tiene esa notable cualidad de alegría que parece conmover a los cristianos.
Jesus, help me rejoice knowing that you are always coming more fully into our world.
