Dear Brothers and Sisters, We enter Catholic Schools Week with much to celebrate! Schools throughout the Diocese of Charleston are doing an exceptional job educating our youth and helping to strengthen their foundation of faith. From 9:00 a.m., Jan. 28 through 9:00 a.m. Jan. 29, we are offered the opportunity to invest in our children and our schools during a 24-hour Day of Giving. We are asking people from around the state to show their support for Catholic education by making a donation to the school of their choice. Gifts of any amount are welcomed and appreciated. Catholic schools in the Diocese of Charleston that participate will have individual website links for donations. Contact your school for information. We live in a time where our culture seems to stand against all that we know to be true and right. Therefore, it is our obligation to protect the intellectual and spiritual authenticity of our children. As faithful Catholics, we must ensure that our children are educated in a Christ centered environment that is safe, nurturing and welcoming. We focus on both the mind and the heart in our Catholic schools. By instilling respect for self and others, discipline and the value of service, our schools are helping to set children on the path towards holiness. Please prayerfully consider an investment in our students and our Catholic schools. There is much to celebrate. Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. God bless you and thank you for your prayers and generous support. Sincerely in Christ, Most Reverend Robert E. Guglielmone Bishop of Charleston
