Sunday Forum strives to provide a resource for our parish, as well as for the Annapolis community at-large. All presentations are open to the public and free of charge. Sunday Forum is held in the Parish Hall at 199 Duke of Gloucester St. The first speaker is Chaplain Jerome Hinson, U.S. Navy Captain, Fleet Chaplain for U.S. Forces Command. Foyer Potluck Dinner Kickoff

Foyer groups are an integral part of the community life at St. Anne’s. They function as a ministry of St. Anne’s by further building Christian community and fellowship among parishioners. Participating in foyer groups is a fun and easy way for parishioners to gather together on a regular and informal basis, develop new friendships, and deepen old ones.

New foyer groups are formed each fall. Each group consists of approximately 8-12 people who meet every four to six weeks between October and June. If this sounds interesting to you and you would like to learn more about the foyer groups, please join us on September 24 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Those attending are asked to bring an appetizer, salad, or other dish to share--along with your beverage of choice. Please email Elizabeth Rogers at [email protected] to RSVP for this event or for more information.

Scott Cooper, St. Anne's parishioner, Evening Prayer leader, Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Department of World Languages at Anne Arundel Community College, is offering a Spanish class for beginners at St. Anne's Church. (What's a beginner? We'll start with "Hello! How are you?"). The class will meet for an hour, Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 PM following our Evening Prayer Service in Spanish (5:30 PM every Wednesday). Volunteers Needed

KAIROS Prison Ministry The Kairos Prison Ministry needs your support. This ecumenical ministry helps men and women

who are incarcerated and their families. It has a remarkable record of transforming lives, reducing violence, and helping those released back into society. The most immediate need is for men to volunteer in the next short course in the men’s prison, Jessup Correctional Institution. The training dates are Saturdays (October 7, 21, November 11) and the weekend (November 16-19). If you can attend on these dates it would be very helpful. We have 30 volunteers and need ten more. More information is available at http://www.kairosprisonministry.org/ To discuss volunteering please contact Ford Rowan at 301-873-5001 or [email protected]. Cooking for the Light House Shelter St. Anne's and the Men's Huddle provide and serve the evening meal at the Light House the first Wednesday of every month. After serving the dinner we get a plate and sit down with the shelter guests to eat and converse. Come join us at the Light House if you would like to help.

On October 4, we are serving meatloaf. We will need 4 people to provide a meatloaf using 3-4 pounds ground meat (one using ground turkey); 6 large packages frozen green beans; tossed salad; mashed potatoes; 6 dozen dinner rolls; a large tub of butter; drinks and dessert. For more information, or to volunteer, contact Nancy Greeley at 410 224-2975 or [email protected] or John Merrick at [email protected] or 443 336-4593. Family Cooking at the Light House Shelter Family cooking at the Light House Shelter is held the 3rd Monday of each month. We are always looking for volunteer families to come prepare, cook, and serve a meal for approximately 60 residents. This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to volunteer together and lovingly serve our community. Children 11 years old and over are welcome to participate in family cooking. Each month we need 2-3 families to prepare a main course, side dishes, and dessert.

Signing up for St. Anne’s family cooking at the Light House Shelter is now easier than ever – I’ve moved to using SignUpGenius to help with managing and scheduling. The link to sign up is http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0844a5ac2ba2fe3-stannes/. It is never too early to sign up if you'd like to pick a date later in 2017. To learn more about participating or volunteering please contact Jill Lake at [email protected] or 443-433-2373.
