Mr. ŽYDRŪNAS BARTKUS - the Head of the SpecialInvestigation Service

Is detection and elimination of the causes and conditions of corruption through the development and implementation of a system of appropriate measures as well as deterrence of persons from the commission of crimes of corruption.

STT o�cials, acting in accordance with the Republic of Lithuania Law on Criminal Intelligence, Criminal Code, detect and investigate corruption related crimes (corruption, bribery, abuse of o�ce, etc.).

Is an integral part of raising awareness of the public with a view to promote perso-nal integrity of pupils, students, young people, private and public sector.

Means analytical activity carried out by the STT that includes collection, proces-sing and collation of information on corruption and the related phenomena. The result of processing this information could be provided to the Government and municipal agencies and o�cers authorised to make decisions significant in terms of reduction of the spread of corruption.
