II SUFFIX: A suffix is added to the end of a root word to change its meaning.

III RHYME SCHEME:

A rhyme scheme is a pattern of rhyme that comes at the end of each verse or line in poetry.

In other words, it is the structure of end words of a verse or line that a poet needs to create

when writing a poem.

Some popular rhyme schemes:

Read aloud all these poems. Pay attention to the ending sounds to understand the rhyme

scheme in each.

1. Alternate rhyme: It is also known as ABAB rhyme scheme, it rhymes as

“ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH.”

VIII. IDIOMS. You already know that an idiom is a group of words whose meaning together

is different from the meaning of the individual words of that idiom. Below are some

common idioms with their meanings. Get familiar these idioms.

X. Writing tasks:

1. DIARY WRITING: Start maintaining a diary. Whenever you have a beautiful

day or a special moment, do remember to make note of it in a diary entry with the

date and time write down your feelings about what made that day or moment
