Why has everything changed for 2016?
2016 Event Stats
With the fragile global economy and diminished growth prospects in China and other emerging market countries, we’re seeing a shift taking place in the shared services and outsourcing market: businesses are squeezing more value out of their shared services.
At a recent SSOW Asia steering committee meeting, senior leaders from captive shared services centres, BPO centres and consulting firms reinforced the focus they all have on value creation. As one CFO mentioned, “It’s all about the customers, they want more value from our centre; they want more bang for their buck.”
Unsurprisingly with this shift comes a demand for new solutions and services and many shared service centres and GBS centres are investing heavily in service and solution providers that can help them transform from transactional hubs to places that add serious value back to the business. Examples of key solutions include data analytics/business intelligence software, cash management technology and robotic process automation (RPA) – all of which can take on basic transactional processes and allow shared services centres to refocus resources on value-adding services.
The shift is happening fast and in large scale. For example, SSO leaders in Asia had merely heard about RPA two years ago and yet last year, RPA appeared at the top of the investment priority list for 36% of delegates at SSOW Asia 2015. The balance of power is also shifting, and at an exceptional rate. All eyes are now on Asia Pacific as more multifunctional hubs, Centres of Excellence (CoEs), global process owners and analytics capabilities are being rooted (and relocated) here. This is accelerating the region’s growth rate and increasing its strategic importance on the global stage.
SSON has been running conferences in Asia for 19 years and has seen the market move from single function transactional centres to complex global business services. Through our network of over 100,000 members we are seeing a market poised and ready to transform. The time is now, be a part of it!

We're moving! And not just because MBS is fancier, tastier and more accessible. The main reason of the move is that the exhibition hall now will be positioned in the epicentre of the show!

Profi ling: Connecting Buyers and Sellers
How does this help?Having proprietary information of this sort allows you meet the right people at the event and have an indepth conversation based on knowledge of their needs, rather than chasing a scattergun approach in the hope that you will hit the right people. It also allows you to approach a company at exactly the right time, when they are open to changing or engaging a new provider. Without this information it is all too easy to miss the narrow buying window and be left trying to engage someone two years into a ten year contract.

How can SSON reduce your sales cycle and get you more qualifi ed leads? Over time SSON has developed an advanced way of sorting the curious from the serious when it comes to deciding who is ready to buy and who is merely window shopping. We call it profi ling, and it runs through everything we do.
"There is a good community of people here"
Mike Fry, Partner, EY
THIS IS HOW IT WORKSIn the past sponsors would visit an event and run around trying to meet potential buyers, become exhausted by having the same conversation and perhaps even miss out on meeting potential buyers who were there!
STEP IN PROFILING...
A buyer books on to the conference
They are then passed to our customer
experience manager and taken through a
questionnaire
We then use this information to set up one to one meetings
between you and interested buyers
This questionnaire establishes their key
challenges, investment priorities, decision
making process and most importantly identifi es the
budget holder.
