[TNR, 12pt]Highlights The 19th International Conference on Solid State Dosimetry (SSD19) with Marko Moscovitch School (SSD Summer School) will be held on 15-20 September 2019 in Hiroshima City, Japan. It will be the first SSD conference in Asia.

Key words radiation, dosimetry, SSD, conference, Hiroshima

Background and Objectives The series of Solid State Dosimetry (SSD) conferences began in 1965 at Stanford, USA and has been held every 3 years. The Conference has expanded for more than 50 years involving the up-to-date techniques for radiation dosimetry and many world-class experts appeared there. The next conference (SSD19) will be the first conference of this series in Asia (Table 1).

Materials and Methods The SSD19 will be held on 15-20 September 2019 at International Conference Center, followed by the Marko Moscovitch School (SSD Summer School) on 11-14 September 2019 in Hiroshima University. Both venues are located at convenient and

cultural places in Hiroshima City (Figure 1). The weather in middle of September is usually mild with warm temperature (17 to 28 oC in average). This season is less crowded than others. The major conference topics are as follows; all other topics related to radiation dosimetry are welcomed. Please visit the Conference web site1) for sub-categories.

- Basic physical processes- Materials characteristics- Instrumentation/ detectors- Monitoring and detection- Dosimetry for medicine & biology- Dose reconstruction and dating

Results and Discussion Though the results of SSD19 is not clear yet, we expect that many distinguished experts would attend this Conference from all over the world. Actually, the Scientific Advisory Committee of SSD19 has already 32 world-class experts from 23 countries and also more than 20 Japanese professionals in the field of radiation dosimetry have been supporting the Conference as Local Supporting Experts1).Conclusion We would like to emphasize that the success of SSD19 depends on your active participation to the Conference. Please join it with your original, high-quality scientific achievements. We look forward to seeing you in Hiroshima in September 2019.References1) Local Organizing Committee of SSD19: 19th International Conference on Solid State
